http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2337626 Why the heck did they sign this dude? He looked horrible last year in the few minutes he played with the Rockets last year. You could sign a younger, cheaper, and better player in the NBDL or CBA.
i guess there doing well this year, and are getting a little jumpy. just trying subtlely to mess things up.
I'm pretty sure he's still getting all of what the Rockets owe plus whatever the Clippers just signed him too.
VB played for Dunleavy during his hayday for the Bucks, didn't know that VB was even working out but he must have showed the Clips enough to warrant signing him.
Not 100% correct. The Rockets do not get to subtract the entire payment to Baker. They only get to subtract one half of the difference between what Baker signs for and the minimum for a 10+ year vet which is $1,138,500. IOW, if Baker signs for 400k, the Rox get to subtract 1/2 of $1.1m minus 400k or ~350k of the remaining $1.3m they owed him for 28 more games. They will roughly still owe Vin $1m over the next 28 games. I realize the difference is small but just wanted us all to be accurate. The difference would have been larger had it not been so late in the season.
If you want to make a big splash throw Vin Baker in the pool. Maybe the Clips didn't know it's just a figure of speech.
