I guess its unfair to call a spread offense "gimmicky" because of its mainstream success in College Football, I just use it allude to the fact that it wouldn't be a system you could run in the NFL. Lets stop the Drew Brees comparisons, I had to hear the same garbage about Colt McCoy last year. I love Case Keenum, he's got fight in him and I've seen him lead some comebacks I never thought were possible, but there is only one Drew Brees.
I have watched him throughout his career and believe he will be a mid to late round pick. Definitely drafted. Good decision making, works great outside of the pocket while staying in his reads and looking down-field. Needs to stop locking in on certain receivers and look off the safety more consistently. He's is on Kevin Kolb's level but with maybe a tiny bit less accuracy (not based on stats, just all the games I have been to) but with much better mobility and pocket awareness. I have seen Case make some absolute sick throws running to his right and left extending plays. I know he's not a Vince Young or Carson Palmer (LOL), but he will find a fit in the NFL.
But there was a Chad Pennington and Doug Flutie. I wasn't intentionally comparing him to Brees, just that he is the best example of looking past the size and arm strength. Of course, Brees throws one of the prettiest deep balls in the league.
