[ESPN 97.5 The Ticket] Filling in for Calvin Murphy this Thursday night

    [shameless self-promotion]

    Pretty geeked up about Thursday night -

    Found out today during our programming meeting that the show I produce and run the board for - "The Front Page" will be filling in for Calvin Murphy, Dave Tepper and Chuck Savage this Thursday night from 5-7pm on ESPN 97.5 FM, "The Ticket" while Calvin is away.

    It will still technically be "The Calvin Murphy Show" with all the same intros and music; we will just be guest-hosting and adding our "Front Page" flavor to his show.

    It'll be our first opportunity to fill-in during drive-time so I am excited/nervous at the same time.

    Fred Faour, Matt Dean and myself will be in studio talking about various local and national sports stories as we do every Saturday and Sunday morning from 8-10am. I encourage all fellow Clutchfans members to tune in Thursday night from 5-7pm and on the weekends during our normal time slot.

    Nothing personal at all against Calvin. His radio show is terrible IMO. It's more like a clown show unless the thing has changed since I last listened to it.

    The weekday local sports programming on 97.5 when they first started up was the worst I've ever heard in my 20+ years of living in Houston. Maybe I need to give it another chance. Last time I tuned in (about 6 months ago), I could only take about one minute of it.

    It's gotten better. If you don't like Calvin, I bet you'll like Carl Dukes, who comes on from 3-5 right before Calvin. Dukes is more calm and Calvin is more out there. I like both because they're different.
