Has a good shooter been in a slump like this before for this long? To this degree? Man is shooting like pure trash... Rushing every shot... He hasn't had one good shooting game and we're a quarter into the season. If he shot just a little below average we'd probably have at least 3 or 4 more wins.
What did the law of averages say about Ryan Anderson once a slump became an entire season? Or when the Rockets missed 27 straight 3-pointers? I have PTSD about missed 3-pointers now.
@Clutch posted that "He's launching almost nine three-point attempts per game and shooting 24.8% from distance, which is lower than Michael Carter-Williams' career average from three." We are a quarter of the way through the season. Enough is enough with this "slump."
I think it would help if he had better shot selection. He launches too many 3s two to four feet behind the arc. You aren’t curry bro. He needs more shots in the flow of the offense.
I've been told it's routine for him to play like this and he is just oh-so hurt by the possibility that we would trade him for Jimmy Butler. Which, if true, then he must have been even more shattered to find out that the trade was rejected unless we also threw in multiple first round picks. How difficult for Eric that he now has to be an important contributor to a contender while making $12m in a city he loves. IMO this is taking on a Ryno vibe quickly - constantly waiting for him to bounce back, getting excited with flashes of a bounce back, etc. Luckily Gordon is a much better defender so we're not bleeding when he's on the floor. But considering 4-5 roster spots are wasted on useless players, to have another $12m and roster spot tied into "well, he's not a negative!" is painful at the moment. If your shot is not falling, take a couple fewer 3's and try to create a bit more Eric. He's also averaging a 10 year career-low in assists per game out there. If it's truly the trade rumors f*cking with his head THIS MUCH, then we have to factor into his future value that we have the most fragile minded player in the NBA. Here's hoping he turns it around and bounces back to his averages, which btw would basically have to be the greatest 68 games of his career.
Man, no one has any evidence that he was affected by these trade rumors, please just stop. Edit: Actually you know what, let's see if these guys will respond @Codman @cyberx
Let me know when he turns the corner. Seriously he should just slash and dunk which he excels. Avoid taking the three ball so much.
these percentages are some of the worst you’re ever gonna see the man has shot over 30% from 3 in only 2 games this season...1 game he shot 33% (3-9), and in the other one 63% (5-8)...he’s also only shot over 40% from the field in only 2 games as well...this dude is taking 15 shots/8 threes a game he has legit been 1 of the worst offensive players in the NBA
