i'd hate to think that players dont like playing here because we expect championships or because we are too hard on players... BUT...

maybe theres something to that? we haven't really gotten a free agent to make the sacrifice to come here in awhile... do WE (the fans), and maybe more specifically, CLUTCHFANS, discourage players?

are hakeems shoes just too big to fill in this city?

do players see how we hate on everyone here?
do you think our fans are deserving of the best players in the league?

    discuss.

    Every message board has haters.
Every message board has ignorant fans
Every message board has great and smart fans.

So with that said no I don't think Clutch fans or any message boards is the reason why a player would sign or not sign with a team. There are 32 teams in the NBA and how many superstars have let their teams over the last few years? There have been more than 15 teams that superstars have passed on.

Lol, I don't think fans have anything to do with it at all. It's more that Houston is a low-glamour city.

Let me put it this way.

"The Fans? Yes. Blood is on your hands too. By buying in to Alexander’s cockamamie concept of "rebuild and compete" fans have acquiesced mediocrity. One cannot simultaneously be both here and there. Unfortunately this fact has been ignored because it’s easier to convince ourselves that we’re better than we really are. "

The article contradicts what you just said later on in the story.

God forbid a fanbase expects their team to win.

If a player says "I don't want to play there because the internet activity is _____" I would rather not have that player.

Have you ever been to LA? NY? Miami? Do you think Houston compares in any way shape or form to those cities for millionaires? That's why star players don't want to come here.

    ClutchFans rocks.

That being said, the whole premise that anything that happens here has any impact at all on free agent decision-making is among the more laughable things ever posted here. And that's including all of DaDakota's 80k+ posts, mind you.

I'd be amazed if half of the Rockets players have ever been on this board, even for a quick look. And if more than 1 or 2 of them show up on a regular basis to READ the drivel we post, I'd be stunned. NBA players really just don't care that much about what goes on on fan boards.

So why would players who AREN'T on the Rockets know anything at all about CF, much less be here looking at the crap we talk about? They wouldn't.
