A: because you are a lazy bum?

Behold, here is one of *multiple* videos of nasty NBA ALL DEFENSE TEAM member John Wall.....playing what appears to be 6th level beat down defense.

I get that SamFisher's point here is that Kawhi doesn't have a better case for MVP than Wall, not that he thinks Wall actually deserves MVP. I can sort of it see it. Kawhi doesn't dominate on the offensive end like we're used to from MVPs in recent memory. One can definitely argue that he's *just* a really, really good cog in the Spurs offensive machine.

In the end, voters may just fall back to the boring choice and give it to LeBron. :)

Now we just need to find a YouTube clip of Wall blocking Harden and the MVP is his for sure!

OP's original post states Wall should be MVP frontrunner. Not just considering Kawhi, but also over LeBron, Harden, Westbrook.

I guess it's all about how the MVP is defined. Best player on the team with best record? Might soon be the Spurs, so it's Kawhi. Stats + media love? Westbrook. Team that shouldn't be where it is and it's due to one singular player? Harden.

Washington and Wall are having a stellar year, but I don't think Wall can be considered an MVP frontrunner. Maybe if they end up with the best record in the EC?

Are we helping his cause by beating Cleveland tonight? Washington might have a shot at the top seed.

This is one of the dumbest posts I've seen in a while. OP is the guy that refused to believe the spurs would still be good 3 yrs back so not surprising he's melting down...

OP is being sarcastic, it just shows how dumb it is to make Kawhi "DNP-Rest" Leonard the MVP. I'd rather have Westbrick get the MVP than Kawhi, at least even if he ballhogs Westbrick brings it every night. Plus, you can make a legit (though flawed) argument for Westbrick in that he is averaging a triple double. There is no argument for Kawhi as everything he is doing Lebron is doing and then some.

    Kawhi:
    16 pts 6.2 rebs 2 assists (LOLOLOLOL!!!) 62% TS
    Lebron
    26 pts 8.3 rebs 8.9 assists 62% TS

I mean just look at the numbers who the hell thought Kawhi should even be mentioned as an MVP candidate? That's just insulting to other players who get more than 16 pts 6 rebs and 2 assists, hell Dwight deserves to be an MVP more than Kawhi he is getting 13 pts 13 rebs a night. Kawhi is a really good player and qualifies as a closer for his team but he's not an MVP as he's clearly just a cog in the Spurs system, same as Parker, Gasol and LMA. It's like giving Billups the league MVP during the Bad Boy Pistons II era.

16 pts 6 rebs and 2 assists is too low a stat total for someone who is supposed to be the sole core of his team, Curry for example played with 3 other all stars and he got 30 pts 5 rebs 7 assists a night the year he won MVP.

Corey Brewer is MVP when adjusted for team goals.

So, I don't agree with OP at this time. But Wizards do have a legit shot at passing the Cavaliers and outright winning the Eastern Conference. They're still not going to have anywhere near a better record than the Spurs, but getting that #1 seed would be pretty freaking unbelievable. Wizards being this good is even more surprising than what the Rockets have done.

One thing I'd dispute to OP though is how little help he has. Yes, their bench has been freaking awful until Bogan and getting Mahinimi back. But their starting lineup is extremely solid at every position. It's not like they are the Thunder. In my mind, the Wizards are a two all-star team. One of the biggest travesties of the season is Beal not making it. He's been averaging 28 points per game the last 10. He's also one of the most efficient shooters in the league, and so is Porter.

I agree that Wall is the catalyst for their offense, but he really doesn't have to shoulder as much of the scoring load as even Kawhi does.

Wall isn't the front-runner but he definitely deserves praise for what he has done this year.

Washington started the year badly. I believe they were even under .500 for a while iirc and then they just flipped a switch and have been killing it. Aiming for the top seed. He scores and facilitates while having great defense.

He has a strong case, he just happens to be going against stronger cases this year. I will agree with OP, in that I think wall is more deserving of the MVP than Kawhi.

OP has some merit. Wall is literally carrying the worst bench in da NBA. His team standing is also good, but then again it's the fking east where the number one seed is behind us in overall wins. If wall get mentions of MVP it's cause he carrying his sorry ass bench, sadly like harden two years back, wall gonna learn that MVP doesnt revolve entirely around carrying people on your back, it's about the media and the better stories of the season (harden/Westbrook/maybe kawhi)
