Am I alone in seeing the potential of this backcourt? I absolutely LOVE the potential of this backcourt. That is, if the magic will keep it together. Payton looks like potentially the next mike conley and fournier has that euro-sg swagger that I like. He's a crafty player.

I know that ain't going to win many games for a long time, but damn they are fun to watch.

And then they were cursed. Sucks for them but yours is stronger than DD's.

It's Orlando, they keep losing their players to free agency. I can't think of a players name that is synonymous to Orlando.

Fournier had a great FIBA tourney, he may have finally turned the corner. Why did Denver trade him again?

The only way oladipo cracks the starting lineup over fournier is due to money and the fact that he was a lottery pick.

fournier is better, in every way, to oladipo.

lol. thats actually hilarious if you think that.

Oladipo is far superior on D, and its not even close. He has the potential to be the best defensive player in the league in 2 years.

Fournier will run with them, no doubt, probably at the 3. But Victor is by far the better player. Averaged 14/4/4/2/1 in his rookie year, and he's only getting better. He is one of the best athletes in the NBA.

    Have you watched him play?

Oladipo will definitely start over Fournier.

also, if you REALLY think teams base starting lineups SOLELY on money and draft status, well then i feel sorry for you.

teams start lineups they think will help them win. Not solely dependent on who makes more or who was drafted higher. Surely, higher drafted players and better compensated because teams inherently think they will help them win more. But the difference in price isn't crazy.

    Oladipo is making 5M, 5M, 6M

    Fournier is making 1.5M, 2M, 3M

It's not like Oladipo is some massive max contract player...their contracts are certainly relatable

NBADraft ranked Oladipo's athleticism as 10/10.

Draft express called him an "elite athlete", also saying "He has the speed and quickness to cover point guards, and his athleticism, strength, and toughness should enable him to guard most small forwards as well."

"he'll be able to hang his hat on the fact that he has a combination of athleticism and energy that can be matched by very few"

a shooting guard that can't shoot is a dime a dozen. There is no way, unless he dramatically improves his shooting ability from the outside, that he'll be anything more than a role player.

fournier, on the other hand, has range, smarts, shooting ability, size, defensive instincts. He has the potential to spread the court. And, until Payton can start making outside shoots, fournier is a better running mate.

Look, you have to be tony allen to have oladipo's game and be on a team that can afford a sg to be a liability on offense. The grizzlies can do that because they have randolph and gasol, but even WITH that, Allen was relegated to the bench last year when Courtney Lee came in.

Also, there is a reason that the magic went out and got fournier, when they already had oladipo. They could have traded affalo for anybody but they wanted founier for his outside shot. That tells you all you need to know about oladipo's shooting prowess.

    Again, fournier is the future.

I like Elfrid Payton, but there's a reason Fournier hasn't done much in the league yet. He might improve, but definitely isn't anything special.

Fournier isn't going to keep shooting 91% at the rim and 50% from 3pt range for very long.

The guy is 22 years old Sizzle. BTW, what, in your opinion, is the reason he hasn't done anything in the league?
