Are there any negatives in getting an elevation survey for our home? Or will it likely just increase our flood insurance premium? This was our first insurance claim, we didn't have flood insurance during Harvey.

We flooded during Harvey and Imelda and looking to get quote for raising our home, and potentially annoying the city about the drainage works in the neighborhood which was meant to happen a few months ago.

We're not in a flood zone, just flooded a couple of times. Trying to find legal side of things but can't find anything, and don't want to flag the insurance premium.

Elevation certificate is between you and your surveyor, it's not a public record so it wouldn't raise your premium to have one done.

Find your area base flood elevation and make sure you're above that and your good to go. My house is 3' above grade per city code. Probably higher now.
