His long shots are shaky. In this day and age, if you are a perimeter player and isn't a 3pt threat, you are limited. You are going to run into a crowd driving to the basket.
Lowry and DeRozan with typical sub par playoff performances but their stellar bench and sorry opponent more than made up the difference. Raptors will win this series but I don't they can handle the Cavs.
of course but im saying most of his attempts that werent 3's were drives to the basket. he took a few midrange jumpers but not many.
WAS needs to move on from Wall and Beal combo. Their roster looks good on paper, but Wall can't shoot and their bigs specifically Gortat just don't get it done. If I were them, I'd trade Wall for young players and picks like IND got for PG13.
John Wall is overrated to me...dude is too inefficient as a scorer for his career in the playoffs he’s shooting 41% from the field on 18 shots a game and just 30% from 3...his TS% is just 51% horrible he’s obviously very talented and still a really good player, but as your franchise player and the guy on a team I think your ceiling is limited
i think wall's ceiling is actually pretty high. occasionally, he has one of those monster games where hes just taking over on both ends of the court but the huge issue is, is that he doesn't do that nearly enough. hes definitely one of the tougher pg's in the league but his impact on the game can just be too volatile for someone that's supposed to be your franchise player. I think his jumper has improved but not enough to the point where its just a consistent weapon night in and night out. not sure if it ever will be but his ability to get to the basket and create for others is what he relies on
he’s just not suited to be a 1A or 1B option offensively like he is in Washington I love his defensive capability and ability to facilitate an offense and dime guys up, but that lack of consistency with his jumper is what causes him to only be occasionally elite in the playoffs. It’s like one game he goes 6-19, then 8-20, then he has a monster game, and then after that he’s going 7-17.
yeah and he also has the alpha mentality so that even makes it more troublesome. fun to watch though i must say for a playoff game haha
The Wizards basically bet their franchise on John Wall because of the extension they gave him last summer: 2017/18 $18.0 MM 2018/19 $19.1 MM 2019/20 $37.8 MM 2020/21 $40.8 MM 2021/22 $43.8 MM 2022/23 $47.5 MM (player option) What sane team would trade for him? He's 27, in his 8th season and there is no reason to think he will get any better. I think everyone now appreciates the magnitude of the mistake the Pistons made trading for Blake Griffin. IMO, Wall's trade value is net negative considering the contract. Wizards are stuck with Wall until 2023. Their is a 100% chance he exercises his option in 2022.
Lawson has looked great running the team. The problem is the Raptors can't miss. Wouldn't mind bring him back for training camp for a look.
Washington ain’t got it this year. I get the feeling there’s some chemistry issues on that team. They should be better than 8th in the East. Raptors making light work of them so far
Yep, and i mean, we know there's beef between Wall and Gortat (who's going to be expiring next season, probably can't wait to get traded), there were rumors about Wall and Beal not getting along well...Wall is probably not liked that much in the lockeroom.
