Celtics would have lost in the first round with those two in the lineup.

Ainge really loaded them up with young talent lol.

Their two summer aquisitions are out but they still have 2 great 3rd overall picks in the draft, a good young player in rozier, plus a veteran all star in al horford.

Brad Stevens and Danny Ainge definitely deserve a lot of credit for this team. Philly + Boston will run the east for a while.

I know you're being funny, but I would really rather the Rockets beat Lebron instead of adding him to the roster. I'm rooting for the Rockets either way. It's more satisfying to beat the best. Let Morey deal with all that stuff.

I agree with this. I thought, and still think, Celtics lineup is not great, but they play great. Adding Kyrie and Hayward doesn't necessarily mean Celtics will be better.

Celtics probably lucked into their ideal team with all the injuries.

I dont think there is even a point to Irving and Hayward, trade those guys for Anthony Davis and get the team some real star power. The combo of Tatum and Brown are the future of the Celtics, they need to build around these two and stop this medium 3 nonsense.

Irving is one of the most overrated players I've seen he is like half of Kobe but with all of his blackhole tendencies. I would put him on the same level as Lilliard and Holiday, aka not a franchise superstar Celts made a major mistake trading for him.

obviously tough to make anything of a blowout like this (unless it's the start of 4 blowouts). this is the same team that needed 7 to beat milwaukee and played a bunch of close games against philly. but i certainly don't see anything weird about this game, other than lebron isn't being aggressive (like indy game 1). the celtics probably won't make everything and the cavs probably won't shoot 0% on mostly good looks from 3, but this is playing out like how you would expect.

i know you can't control these things, but celtics better not make the same "mistake" the pacers did in everybody playing well at the same time everyone on the cavs played horribly and getting blowouts that only count as 1 win and then allowing a bunch of close games the cavs kept winning. indy played better the whole series but didn't match of their good games with cleveland's good games. boston can win by 52 today but if they lose game 2 by 3 then it won't matter. but boston's just too athletic for it to matter i think. they would definitely give us all we want and their D seems to rattle the warriors as well, though i think a fully focused warriors wouldn't let them score.

Why did the Cavs stop competing on defense after the first 3 minutes?

LeBron didn't even try during the entire first half. It's almost like he is choosing not to try hard until his teammates prove themselves first. Maybe this is his way of pressuring them. Maybe it's his way of conserving energy when he knows it won't do any good.

Hayward is a decent two way player but Irving has never lead a winning team, his team collected top 4 picks till Lebron came and made them good, and last year the Cavs had negative pt differential when Lebron sat and Irving was running the show.

On this team he's not really needed because Brown and Tatum already provide the scoring he does while not being a defensive liability. Cavs dominated the Celtics when Irving was healthy because he was a defensive sieve and his Iso ball stagnates the offense look at them now putting the lockdown on the Cavs this isn't gonna happen if Irving was playing.
