One of my buddies designs Jordan's here at the Nike world HQ in Beaverton, OR. He said D-Wade is/was a pain to sign from Converse and he's even worse to work with. Cool story bro I know but thought I'd share.

Like shoe companies are loyal to the players they sign; NBA players are their own brand, maximize earnings DWade.

Actually just noticed Damon Jones is still on Li-Ning's payroll, so in someways, the Chinese shoe companies probably treat their signees better.

Converse was his first shoe contract, later he switched to Nike/Jordan.

Can already picture it in the Offical Trade proposals thread in the GARM.

"K-Mart, Lamb, Morris+Toronto&Dallas pick for Wade&Cole, would make perfect sense for all sides"

If Wade was younger, no way Nike would let him go.

With Li-Ning, Wade will be the man, if he stayed with Nike, he'll won't make as much. The chinese company probaly told him, you will be our main guy and the profit from selling your shoes is going to be more than Nike giving you.

I didn't even realize Wade was with Nike. He should have left. Didn't seem like Nike gave him much attention.

I think this officially marks the moment when the torch of hegemony is passed from the USA to China.
