just got sent a job opening in Dubai this past week by my HR company.....

the idea of working overseas has always intrigued me and the money and job are both appealing..... did a little research but was hoping for some first hand knowledge, particularly in the areas of cost of living, rent, food, entertainment, way of life and the minimum level of salaries i would need???

i remember there have been some threads about before but with search off needed to start a new one..

    help dudes??

    I live in Dubai dude...

Where are you moving from? Australia?

Also, it's almost impossible for me to tell you what salary you would require without knowing your lifestyle and whether ur bringing anyone along with you...

Send me an email on ehsanparham@gmail.com if you want lots of details, I'd be glad to help!

My buddy is probably heading over there in Dec.

I hear the guy to girl ratio is 4:1. Good luck with the swordfights! ;)

On the other hand, I hear there are lots of hookers, so maybe that kind of evens things out.

My uncle lived there for about 12yrs. He loved it. Says that they Love Americans over there. Dubai has a LOT of money..all from oil..but they're smart. They know that the Oil money won't last forever, so they're rapidly trying to convert the country to a tourist destination.

I heard going to places like Dubai for work does wonders for your career in the long-run. You'll be highly sought-after whenever you come back to the States.
