Charlotte Chris Singleton SF 21 years old; 6-9, 230 Florida State, junior 10. Milwaukee Klay Thompson SG/SF 21 years old; 6-7, 205 Washington State, junior Milwaukee is perhaps the most active team in trade discussions in the top 10, and there's a strong possibility it will not be making this pick on draft night. Houston is offering Courtney Lee(notes) and the No. 23 pick, San Antonio is offering George Hill(notes), and other teams are expected to make a strong push depending on what prospects fall to this spot. Jonas Valanciunas, Kemba Walker and Klay Thompson are likely to be the players that draw the best trade offers. Should the team keep the pick, or even if someone trades up, look for Thompson to be selected here. 11. Golden State Marcus Morris PF 21 years old; 6-9, 230 Kansas, junior 12. Utah Kemba Walker PG 21 years old; 6-1, 185 Connecticut, junior 13. Phoenix Tristan Thompson PF 20 years old; 6-9, 230 Texas, freshman 14. Houston Kawhi Leonard SF 19 years old; 6-7, 225 San Diego State, sophomore This would be a fairly disappointing fall for Leonard, who had strong supporters in front offices drafting much higher than this (Toronto at No. 5, Washington at 6 and Sacramento at 7). Ultimately, positional needs and team preferences could drop him down to the end of the lottery, where the Rockets would be ecstatic to land him. 15. Indiana Marshon Brooks SG 22 years old; 6-5, 195 Providence, senior 16. Philadelphia Nikola Vucevic PF/C 20 years old; 7-0, 260 USC, junior 17. Houston Iman Shumpert PG/SG 20 years old; 6-6, 220 Georgia Tech, junior Shumpert's draft range appears huge at the moment, starting with Phoenix at No. 13 and moving all the way to the end of the first round, where his hometown team of Chicago likes his defensive potential and athleticism. The Rockets don't have a glaring need for a player at his position but could be drawn to his upside, seeing as how no other prospect really jumps out at this stage of the draft. 24. Oklahoma City Kyle Singler SF/PF 23 years old; 6-9, 225 Duke, Senior 25. Boston Tyler Honeycutt SF 20 years old; 6-8, 190 UCLA, sophomore 26. So, If we land the 10 to go with the 14, I wonder what happens? Kawhi and Kemba would be a huge score...
I wouldn't mind Alec Burks/Marshon Brooks (one or the other, not both of course) either, especially if we're getting rid of Courtney.
Interesting that Marshon has jumped ahead of Burks in the mock. I would prefer Burks, I think... I think Daryl wants Kemba Walker. Graduated in 3 years just like Patrick Patterson. Was the best and most clutch player in the tournament. Class and talent, I think he could be the perfect fit with Patrick Patterson. I want Greg Smith in the second round.
What bother me about irving is that he has no special talents on the court. The #1 pick should have something special about him and he doesn't. I don't think he will be a bust, but he's not and won't be the best player in the draft. John wall and rose were explosive athletes. Yao was a giant, oden, same thing. Irving isn't explosive, oversized, or anything.
10 and 14 would be great. plus, there might be potential to package those to move up. lee and #23 for #10 sounds fair. lee is one of our few 2-way players and is very solid for a young player. i would hesitate to move him to draft another wing player.
I dont think teams will pass up on Leonard and Biyombo. No way they fall outside 10. We are going to even struggle to land Singleton if we stay at 14.
Just like DWill and CP3 didn't have anything special about them. Except for the fact that they can do EVERYTHING. Great athletes, great court vision, amazing handles, great finishing, great shooting, hes the whole package. I think in a few years time he will be in the Dwill/CP3 class. My projecting future PG rankings (in 2-3 years) 1A/1B: D-Will, CP3 3. Rose The Rest: Westbrook, Rondo, Wall, Lowry, Curry
