    The type of fan that values rings more than a W in the opening game of a season. Also, the kind of fan that has been there at the start of every "this is the season" season, only to discover that Harden plays significantly better when he's the underdog. Introspection is important. Harden is still looking weak on defense after putting on a decent defensive effort in preseason.

    And before you say "well you can hope for all wins"... yes, but I'm not a child. I understand these things affect each other. I'd rather lose a meaningless one to them if it means improving our chances in the playoffs against them. For a hero to emerge from the underdog, there has to be extreme pain. And since this is sports and not real life, I want these players to feel the bottom of the barrel against the Warriors.

    This is the season. Everything counts. I've spent the last few years defending Harden's rockets vs the haters. This season is different. This time, no excuses for exerting less effort than the Warriors. Effort is free and doesn't take up cap space. When this team comes out and says "our identity and our strategy is that we will maximize our talent AND OUTWORK them". A loser should dive harder, jump higher, run faster, execute sharper.

    I hope I see that from them.

    Rockets beat them the first time they played them last year too and then proceeded to get curb stomped the next 3 times they played them. I am not getting crazy about 1 regular season game in October. If we beat them in the playoffs then I'll be excited. That goes for when we face the Spurs too. I don't want to see Harden choke in the biggest games of our season again this post season.

    we didn't have anderson for those 3 games (injured halfway through one), and as much as casual fans are like "anderson ain't a big deal," he's a huge deal for our spacing and therefore a key piece to our entire offensive system

    OK, so I'll own my part in this one...
    2017 has taken the form of an ordeal, the Astros facing, back-to-back, two teams formulated in very similar ways. One could even say the Dodgers are the team we just faced, only further along and better in every element of the game. The inferior team took the better team to 7; now there's a much more comparable match on paper but in each case, there's a bit of Jekyll-and-Hyde and we can't be sure if either will dazzle, or shrink from the moment in any given game. It will be compelling...

    Most of them aren't even real fans but will pretend like it now that we are in the World Series.

    I had my doubts but I still bought tickets to game 6 and champagne for game 7 ...

    I stand by my negativity .

    We should not tolerate in victory what we wouldn't accept in defeat . Dantoni needs to manage the rotation better .
