I would love to see a new take on the whole Peter Parker character and Spider-Man which means Marvel is going to have to reboot the series again and start from the beginning with a whole new look to it... Could Community star Donald Glover play Spider-Man??
[QUOTE Could 'Community' star Donald Glover play Spider-Man? Oh, wait, you're right... how could I have ever thought that Donald Glover could pull off playing a high-school aged nerd? Here's my first question for you: why is Peter Parker white? My answer to that question would be "Because the comic book was published in the early '60s, and there was no way Marvel was going to make their main character anything BUT white at that point in publishing history."[/QUOTE] Here is my first question: why should this dude play Spider Man? My answer to that question, because he is wearing glasses in that picture and it makes him look nerdy. Also, he is young. Also, Marvel doesn't own the movie rights to Spider Man.
Maybe in an alternative universe. Peter Parker will never be black and I do not want him to be black. It's not racist. It's just that Spiderman is an iconic superhero.
How about Yao Ming movie sequel with a black basketball player being raised in China and coming to America to join the Rockets?
I don't mind seeing this happening but as a comedy. Peter Parker speaking ebonics and cleaning up the hood wearing the black costume.
The thing with Fury is that in the alternate line of books known as the Marvel Ultimate Universe, his design was based on Sam Jackson.
they're finally gonna get this ethnically correct. i mean, how many white spiders have any of you seen?
Spider-Man is a fictional character, I don't see what the problem is casting a black person as Peter Parker... It's just skin color and it's not like their going to change the story line based on his race... I think casting Glover is a big improvement over Tobey Maguire... The guy is pretty talented and I think he could probably pull it off... In the movie world, I say go black, in the comic universe the fanboys can have their Spider-Man white if they want.. Split it 50/50...
For 400 years that type of attitude has kept us down. Took a whole lot of trying just to get up that hill. Now we're up in the big leagues, getting our turn at bat. As long as we live, it's you and me baby, and there ain't nothing wrong with that.
