would not be surprised if Golden State renders yao ineffective in their next game.

No, Yao is too tired. As a 7'6" guy, played 4 tough teams in 5 days. He will be fine next week after 3 days rest.

i kind of agree. dirk is rendered ineffective if u put a small player on him for the most part and fronts him.

You guys should realize that the best way to beat a small ball team is to have a good pg who can control tempo. Spurs always beat Suns because Parker and Manu can control tempo. SF3 just showed today he can control tempo. So, I don't really worry about it.

the best way to slow small teams is to play good stifling defense one one end, and slow the tempo on the other end.

wouldn't the rockets (excuse me, yao ming) rather face the spurs than the suns? wouldn't he rather face the jazz over a healthy golden state warriors team?

Yes, he has trouble against smaller and quicker players because he spends too much time and energy fighting for position. Stop it!

Instead of wasting energy, he should have waited for his teammate with the ball is ready to pass him the rock before posting and pinning his man at the block. Karl Malone was a master at this. If you watched how Malone used to get the ball in the paint, you see that he rarely had to fight for position.

I think Yao had all of his worse games of last season against golden state, they front the hell out of him with two defenders at all time and pretty much render him ineffective. JVG never figured out how to solve this, but hopefully an offensive genius like adelman can figure it out.

The difference is Malone was effective with the ball 15 feet from the basket. Yao isn't nearly as effective unless he's within 8 feet from the basket.

Truth is our open shooter(s) couldn't make a basket when Yao was double-teamed.

Yao Ming rebounds better, and shoots better against GSW. He's been abusing the weak defense.

He did have a fluke bad game against them towards the end of the season. He ended up missing the next game due to a sore lower back, so that may be a reason for the bad performance that one time.

Most games, he has an easier time rebounding and scoring against them than other teams. His FG% is great against the Warriors.

    Last season.

    Those playoff Warriors were unbelievable!

The regular season warriors are not very good. They started the season with a 6 straight losses and became the last team in the league to win a game this season.
