Honest question - Rockets got CP3 as a star to pair with Harden for not just 2 years. This summer after rumors of CP3 - Harden bust up and Cp3 requesting a trade, Morey and CP3 denied it saying that was NEVER true and Cp3 is not for trade

And then now he is traded?

How will this sit with future free agents or other star players?

Nope. CP3 was on a monster superstar contract and wasn't delivering.

Please stop creating a new thread every few minutes - the quality of “topics” is really low. Think of one good thing to get people talking about and give it a few days....Jesus man. This is turning into your own personal forum - stop being a drag on the community

Look at what the Warriors did to Durant and Iggy, what the Celtics did to Isiah...

I mean sure, I'm guessing Lebron and Wade will trash this organization for doing his boys Melo and CP3 wrong but so what? Not like we are courting him anymore and he'll be out of the league probably by the time the Westbrook-Harden era is over.

to be fair CP3 does not get traded if Paul George was still on OKC. All of this came together quickly so I don't think it makes us look bad

CP3 chose money over winning. He sucked ass this season and was traded. If he took a paycut like almost every other star that wants to win does we probably wouldn't have traded him. Hope he enjoys that shithole called OKC.

It may not end up having any effect on the franchise's ability to get star free agents in the future. I mean, the Clippers front office treated Blake Griffin the same, and look at who they were able to reel in this offseason. Going forward, things could play out similarly for Houston. But I still don't like it. At all. And one could say the difference between things working out for the Clippers FO and Houston's is that at least the Clippers are perceived as likeable. Morey and co. haven't been highly regarded around the league as of late, hence why we struggled to poach any of the FA we were interested in earlier this summer.

We gave Chris Paul like a billion trillion dollars after he pulled out his hamstring.. there should never ever be a complaint from anyone ever about how we treated him

it does but it only reiterates for morey and co, that players can be dealt with the blink of the eye. that's the rep players around the league have for houston and this is no different. other than its a widely known player

    Don't care about that.

We ended up with an inefficient, losing his athleticism player that's contract is even worse than CP's (one year Longer!)

And we gave up picks to do it.

    What a joke.

If CP3 was unhappy, then we did him a favor.

Well, we did send him to OKC. So, he might not be happy with that.

Wrong question. Does this reflect badly on the fans? Let’s stay classy Houston. Tip your hat to CP and “LET’S GOOOOO!!!!”

If CP3 hadn't signed a max contract and played shitty afterwards, he would've been here, so he's part of the reason.

It's obvious Rockets didn't just trade him cuz he's old, they traded cuz he didn't live up to his contract. I don't think that reflects badly on the Rockets in the eyes of the NBA community.

    Good trade!

Paul is slow, has 4 rebounds a game.
    WB 11 rebounds a game.

    WB, 23, 11, 10
    Paul, 15, 4, 8

This is a business and DM did what was best for the Houston Rockets.

No one gives a flying hoot about CP3 and his feelings.

Each and everyone of them making millions of dollars...picking their teams in FA and what not...should know and understand...this is a business and they are pawns.

    It is what it is.

It’s the new league now. Players move constantly on their own accord and the teams. It is what it is but the lifelong one team for a career player is dead.

You forgot to add the part that Houston has mosquitoes, whereas LA does not.
