He's pretty inconsistent with imposing his will on the game. He needs to be able to turn on the switch and stop worrying about getting the rest of the team involved, especially if you have people like Ariza trying to impersonate Brewer out there.
You can have a killer instinct without without outwardly looking angry, etc. The most calm people are the most dangerous. He trusts the personnel enough this year to take the tough shots that he took for us last year. You can't will your team back from going 10-45 from the three point line, missing a key free throw, getting the rebound and messing up the next play, and just getting totally outplayed on the glass. He's putting everyone in a position to succeed, we just have to understand that when you're built the way we are, missing 3s at that rate without s rebounding presence almost guarantees a loss.
And outside of Lou, it was 5-35. Ouch Does he have the killer instinct? Sometimes. He's getting better, but he can get mo betta.
Yes Harden has killer instinct. One of the kings of killer instinct is Kobe Bryant. When Kobe was asked if he could start an NBA team with any player in the NBA, who would it be? He said James Harden. Kobe is not going to endorse a player that doesn't have a killer instinct on the basketball court. Don't confuse Harden's introvertness with pacificity. Players that want to win, make the smart play.
Also if he's thinking. My opinion of James Harden is that he is so confident in his own abilities that he never plays at true 100% effort.
Agreed! He has many instincts BUT being a killer on the BBall court isn't one of them. I love the Rockets and root hard as hell for Harden but his LASSIEZ FAIRE ATTITUDE is down right depressing. Constantly walking the ball up the court, half hearted defense and placing blame on others for missed assignments. I HATR LIKE HELL TO SAY THIS BUT I DON'T THINK WE WIN IT WITH JAMES AS THE ALPHA MALE ON THIS TEAM
Hasn't forced the issue this season, but I think that has helped us. Other teams are focused on him, he has been making the right decision most of the season, not so much recently though. He's certainly capable, he's been a top 4th q scorer a couple of times in his career.
He was actually happy to play second fiddle to lou. He looked passive in the 4th against the Pacers. In 2015 at his clutch best he was relentless at attacking the basket in the clutch.
