Maybe It's just getting older, but it feels like 2010-now has gone by in the blink of an eye.

I remember time going by pretty fast in the past. It never seemed this quick though.

2016 and 2017 in particular are pretty much over before I even know it.

Do you guys feel like time goes by faster the older you get?

Or is it just this decade?

They say time goes faster as you get older because each day/month/year is a smaller percentage of your total lifespan. One year to a 10-year-old is 10% of his life...1 year to a 50-year-old is 2%.

You spend nearly half your life being old if you got decent life expectancy.

Decades go by in the blink of an eye
Faster and faster as the decades run dry
The world falling apart despite giving your best
As you wonder if life was simply a test
    Where the rules were rigged,
    The players cheated
    The win was right there
    And you were defeated
Yet you recall to yourself as you begin to fail
That while you've lived on this earth
    You weren't living in Hell

Yes and like everyone else I put it on getting older. This morning it's hard to believe that it's been 16 years since 9/11.
We can't stop time but what we do with it can matter. I find that if I'm doing something new or seeing something new it feels like time goes slower. So instead of worrying about how quickly time passes make the the most of the time you have.

Getting out of school and working makes time go faster too.

He didn't. I wrote that. Any resemblance to Yeats was purely unintentional. Thanks, though. I'm flattered.

I'm also excited about the sequel. I was dead set against it until I saw the trailer and got a sense of where they were going with the film. Can't wait!

Well said, Judo, and I think it's true. Staying curious about the world is a big part of who we are. As some age, they turn inward and come to view the world as incomprehensible, and change a threat. Living in a bubble isn't living, in my opinion, and I'm not referencing a Seinfeld episode. The world and its wonders help keep some of us going. Those responsible for 9/11 wanted all of us, and our country, to withdraw into a shell. Living life as full as we are able is a middle finger to the madness that took the Twin Towers, in my opinion.

Good to have you on board with the new film Dekard. I've been avoiding any trailers to try and keep something a surprise.

I really needed to see something to change my negative opinion about even the idea of a sequel, but totally get avoiding seeing too much. Far too often, trailers show you the highlights of a film, leaving little of the plot to discover when you're in the theater.

For those of you who are older:

Does time slow down after retirement? Or does it go even faster?

I’d think it’s the second out of those two options.
