The Simpsons has GOT to be hanging on by the tiniest of threads as it is.

That review on The Ringer doesn't make it sound all that great.

Social Justice War is finally almost over if all they have left to tear down is Apu.

I want to be as sensitive as possible to actually offensive things in society, but at some point, is humor dead?

    Yeah I’m not seeing it.

If the worst thing you’re being called is a character off the simpsons, you’ve got it pretty easy in life.

I'm surprised the SJW pitchforks haven't come for South Park yet. Maybe they're grandfathered in so they can keep doing what they've always done.

The whole Simpsons show is an exaggeration of stereotypes:

The cops are stupid and incompetent

The local bartender/owner is depressed and with few morals.

The wealthiest man is evil and greedy.

The clown entertainer is intentionally Jewish and is satirized as such.

Somehow people realize it's satire and are okay with it offending everyone.

I love the Chinese vs Japan episode which would be considered terribly racist outside some other context.

Haven't they pretty much preempted that kind of criticism? They've always gone after everything, unapologetically.

This is probably headed for the D&D....

Look at the Simpsons' cast. Every single one of them is a caricature or stereotype. From the Mexican bumblebee to the fat comic book nerd to the sanctimonious holy roller to the corrupt mayor. Hell, the only Texan on the show is a fat old white guy who wear a ten gallon hat, says yeehaw, and literally shoots pistols every time he is on screen. To be included in the Simpsons cast is to be a normalized and accepted part of American culture.

If you want to be excluded from the group. Fine. But something tells me the people pissed about Apu wouldn't stand for Indians/Middle Easterners being left out of such a quintenssential piece of Americana, either.

The last 20 seconds of that promo basically says it all. The creator behind this is a triggered social police snowflake with no sense of humor. Funny how he understands this, yet pushes forward with this asinine project.

    These people don't like it
They saying they don't like it
They feel it is a bad representation of them and their culture

    What's wrong with that?

What about Carl, Dr. Hibbert, and other black characters. They don't really seem like black stereotypes. Most are clearly representations of real people or characters from other shows. Dr. Hibbert is a Cosby expy. Drederick Tatum is a Tyson Parody and his manager is Don King, etc.

    Yes, yes it is. Officially.

Actually no but it’s dying for sure. Deray on Netflix on right now, it’s hilarious but dude drops the n bomb about every 3rd sentence. I don’t care but if you’re going to suggest I’m the one perpetuating race because I’m white, I’m rolling my eyes. Me, my non racist actions and my zero platform sure isn’t having the same effect as a famous black comedian. But again, it’s hilarious. And I don’t care lol

They seem upset Hank Azaria is the voice...forget that it’s not a terrible impression, if it’s just that white guy does it...that’s racist. I mean when was the last time they called at&t, I’m not prejudice but I was understanding about 25% of it.

Also, the white people in the Simpson’s are yellow. At least other skin colors are recognized, not like that blue ass black kid from Doug.
