super for you. yay. but to answer your question. no. mchale is doing very similar things to adelman w/o the benefit of a full training camp. patience. each coach must learn what are the best rotations for his system. Clipps were superior athletically no matter who we would have played. especially on a back-to-back. Lakes were superior inside no matter who we would have played. especially in their building.
Too early to say considering McHale didn't get a training camp and will get minimal practice time this year. I do question him every time he sticks Scola in at center against a 7 footer though.
too early to tell I love Adelmans offense, but there were times where his decision to play a player for more minutes than earned made me crazy.. Ask me after a year of McHale being here...
Actually, I still miss JVG. I do not miss Adelman at all. It's nice to have a coach who is accountable for a change. In time, the defense will improve. I know it is early but I'm down on Patterson. I knew he wasn't going to be Chuck Hayes on defense but I expected more grit than this.
Not really. RA is a great coach but I think McHale is pretty good too. Like the other poster said, coaching isn't the problem.
I'm not ready to close the book on McHale yet but it is nice for the team to have some sort of identity. Well balanced offense or lock down defense weren't perfect, but at least we knew what our stregths were.
I miss RA and The Chuckwagon ..... Offense looks horrible Defense is just as bad as it was last year.
I do miss Adelman, but McHale has been fine so far. The team mailed it in last night. It happens sometimes, especially on a compressed schedule. And considering LA is the locus of the franchise-changing trade that didn't happen, that might have gotten to the players' heads too. No need to knee-jerk on the Clippers game. If Adelman was still the coach, this thread would be titled "Should we have fired Adelman last offseason?"
Sure. But people need to remember: the Rockets did not look so good last year without Chuck and Brad Miller in the lineup. Moreover, Patterson isn't close to where he was last year, and Martin also looks to be off. Just imagine for a moment what the Rockets might have looked like last year, under Adelman, with a struggling Patterson/Martin and no Chuck Hayes or Brad Miller to run the high post offense. In particular, imagine what they'd look like facing 4 strong playoff-caliber teams on the road with hardly any time for practice in between.
not really i missed JVG more can't believe our defense can be this bad now non of those JVG players are left on the team
I'm aware of that. It's not a lack of explosiveness or being out of synch on offense or anything else caused by missing time due to injury. It's him playing tentatively like he doesn't want to get his hands dirty or like he doesn't really care. Coming back from injury or not, the grit and toughness should be there.
