Disregard wins and losses- do they seem to try harder and play smarter without him?

Maybe more democratized offense. Better overall? I doubt it... And anyway, not Harden's fault/responsability, but coach's.

This is not a Harden problem. Its a coaching problem.

Without Harden, their go-to, everybody has the mindset that they need to pick up their games to pick up the slack. Ball movement, a better team effort overall. It's easy to stand around and watch while Harden ISOs. Problem is, when stuff really matters, playoffs and Finals, you can't win without stars. It's like a catch 22

I have to say, our offense looks a lot more like an offense the past two games - and both games aren't against sucker defenses.

You have to wonder if Harden is somewhat of a ball stopper and breaking the flow of the offense.

To me, it says that there are tweaks Harden can make to make our offense more efficient.

I don't understand the hate the OP is getting. Sadly, yes, the Rockets APPEAR to be more efficient without Harden, and this is coming from a HUGE Harden fan. I've said this before, but Lin just doesn't look relaxed or comfortable when Harden plays. The ball doesn't move as well with Harden in there.

HOWEVER, this is a problem that Coach McHale has to figure out. Why does Lin change so dramatically without Harden? How do you get him to play this way with he 2nd unit. How can we ensure the ball movement continues with Harden in the game.

But this only applies to the regular season. Come playoffs we NEED Harden. We need his penetration, his shooting. Lin, as good as he CAN be, will never destroy a defense like Harden, and come playoffs you need STARS to win. Lin isn't a star. He's, IMO, a VERY good player, but not a Star.

This team plays better WITHOUT James Harden. This is obvious. What a waste of money that lazy bum is.
