D’Antoni continuing to trot out Gerald Green the entirety of the series despite zero positive results is one of his most confounding coaching moves as a Rocket. He went to Gerald every game and every time, without fail, it hurt the team.
This is a no doubter. We could find one of him at any Home Depot at 6am. Everyone can shoot, make maybe 15% of the shots and play zero D. But Mike loves him.
He singlehandedly lost us the game, trimming the lead from 7 to 2 in the fourth and giving up momentum at the most crucial stretch of the game. This goes hand in hand with MDA’s idiocy. Sees him make some threes in the first half, thinks he’s playable.
Isn't the other complaint about him that he didn't play the bench enough? Today, they were +6 with Green on the court.
Well Well Man this should be 8th deeper on the rant chart after this. We are paying him peanuts to play 5 mins a game. So I guess
LOL. He entered the game with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and the game tied at 77. He exited the game 5 minutes later, with the Rockets leading by 4. Somehow, he was *singlehandedly* responsible for the loss?
Green is fine for the regular season. Provides good energy on random Wednesday nights against bad teams. Can get hot at random moments... But key moments in the 4th quarter elimination game? I think not. He throws away way too many possessions.
We signed him for the vet minimum. I won’t mind if we resign again as long as we have a coach that doesn’t play him in the playoffs
4th quarter (89-82) 10:33 GG misses layup 10:22 Iguodala 3 (89-85) 10:03 GG misses 3 10:01 Capela offensive rebound 9:57 GG turnover 9:46 Curry 2 (89-87) We never gained momentum again.
In a ****ing razor close series. Green was a ridiculous -16 in game one. He played 7 minutes. GS attacked him without fail.
Most of us are not surprised it's Gerald Green what you expect... coaches really should of expected this outcome.
Green was carried by CP3 and co. playing great. He luckily didn’t get attacked on switches and barely touched the ball until the 4Q. I haven’t seen anyone mention it but Green also missed an easy steal in the first half that ended in a scored basket for GS. Even when he was in a good position he was so dumb and unaware he didn’t get the easiest steal of the night. Curry passed the ball under the rim and he was right there in front of looney. As soon as that happened I knew he’d kill them some how.
