[Disney] Live-action Mulan

I’m not a fan of Disney at all really and this actually looks good. I have not seen the original movie though.

Anybody shell out the $30 or however much it was, for Disney+ to watch Mulan?

If so, thoughts on the movie?

 

Had no idea Mulan was in part about fighting and the military, it looks good.

 

I plan on waiting. It looks really good, but $30 and only on DisneyPlus feels like overreach to me.

I had no idea, military themes are not usually a Disney thing.

 

Not worth the $30 plus membership. Plenty of free streams on it. If you treat it as a free movie, and go in with low expectations: it's aight B-movie.

Lot reviewers seems to not like it; but I'm not sure what they were expecting. Characters aren't going to break out into song and dance. And no talking animals.

The action choreo is competent, and OK so long as not expecting action from The RAID.

Pros: Cinematics and production were top notch, which is to be expected since Disney has that Disney money.

Cons: Story-wise, terrible. ESPECIALLY if you came into the movie with any heightened expectations and/or if you have vivid and fond memories of the animated version.

I can go into a long rant about how you absolutely (read: ABSOLUTELY) need to leave your brain at the door when starting to watch this movie, but I won't unless someone wants my thoughts.

 

I'd like to see a Disney movie with The RAID type action.
