[Discussion 2017] What are America's Core Values?

America has no core values other than “diversity” - which isn’t a value but rather a characterization.

 

Love of Rockets basketball.

Hatred of Mark Cuban.

That is all.

 

With applicable limits and caveats of course:

personal freedom
free enterprise
democracy
equality
rule of law

 

Unity at home to facilitate individuality from Europe, opportunism with natives and Spaniards, and later impunity abroad.

Freedom of thought and action, initially in defiance of monarchies but ultimately as a stimulus for commerce.

Superficial but quantitatively unmatched dominance of what was once known as fine arts through engineering, audience research and as a mechanism for integrating marginalized groups.

 

Yeah, it was my bad misinterpreting the question as "what are good core values". Being an obnoxious dick is an inherent American value.

 

So, in essence our core value is that we are a joke?

 

I mean, look at who's in charge.
