Did the Rockets expose their small members too early?

Plenty of teams have had success going with smaller and more skilled "death lineups" in the playoffs. Even no team has going full-time small ball so often and so early. Perhaps consistently playing against bigger guys, even if you win a lot against them, drain a player's energy and showing small ball tactics gives opponents opportunity to prepare better counters?

I still like smaller skilled lineups, but maybe there is a reason why even the Warriors gave some token minutes to the likes of JaVale McGee, Zaza Pachulia and Andrew Bogut?

Small ball works 20 minutes a game, but not 48 minutes.

this team would be okay if you have Kuzma, Dwight and Harrell in the bench.

    So succinct and well put.

Dantoni is notorious for this. He finds something cool that wort for a couple of games and then decided to spam it endlessly til the end of time.

Other teams like the Clippers and the dynasty Warriors have small ball line ups also. But they didn't always go to them because they knew it doesnt always work.

Should have unleashed small ball in the Playoffs to catch teams by surprise. This gimmick won't even make it till April

The Rockets do not have knock down shooters. The team leads in 3 point attempts and 22nd in percentage. Also, there are no alternatives when collectively the perimeter shot is off, the superstars are having average nights, the paint is walled and the officials are doing the Foster Brothers.

Defensively, the Rockets are getting exploited on the dribble drives and screen rolls. Even when the right rotations are made (tiring and thankless), opposing teams are making high percentage plays in the paint (lobs, dunks, lay-ups, prime offensive rebounding positions). Teams must be salivating when they look at the schedule and see the Rockets coming up.

Team scouting is too good, officiating is usually bad and unreliable, and on any given night, someone or the whole other team is setting records on the Rockets.

And in answer to MDA's assertion about "teams must adjust to the Rockets, not us," news flash, they are.
