Did Bill and Clyde just violate HIPAA?

Bill and Clyde just recklessly outed assistant coach John Cho as the one who had a heart attack in New York earlier this season.

That is just not acceptable. He isn't a player and announcing to the free world that he suffered a medical emergency is probably against the law.

Chalk up another mental lapse by Worrell....

It's a boring game, this is something to discuss

    Oh for ****s sake.

You're reaching, get real. It was well known he had a heart attack. and Bill and Clyde arent doctors so they violated nothing.

Strange that you’d have a problem with divulging this private information and then create a thread documenting this information for all of the internet to see.

HIPAA applies to the paid care giver, not a witness. If I give you a Heimlich and then tell a friend, it's not a HIPAA violation.

According to that situation, then no one can talk about the health of someone other than medical personal. That's BS!

Yeah no license or certificate to suspend

Maybe you want to get Bill or Clyde press passes revoked? Good luck with that.

While we all agree it's not it to a HIPAA violation, I do agree it was a bad move on Bill and Bull. This guy wants to get promoted by other teams one day and while an employer may never admit it, a 50 year old with perfect health might get a job over a 45 year-old with a checkered heart history. In today's profit driven world, many times, money comes before loyalty or qualification.

It is not a HIPAA violation, but likely something he can sue the Rockets organization over. This really doesn't surprise me about Bill. Bill is a representative of the organization and just pointed something out about a coworker that is private / health related that can effect his ability to gain employment in the future.
