It's probably a really bad thing if he does play. It means most likely that we've either had injuries or we've given up on the season already.

Well let's hope that he's better than both of those guys or the Texans REALLY screwed up. I mean, at least we can say he's got more "just winz" than either of those two.

The stats are a similar but I think they also share similar traits such as leadership and play making ability.

We are in real trouble if he's Bridgewater or Geno Smith. No way they make that trade to go get him if that's what they see or expect.

I don't know if most borrow money from a fringe player and then stall reimbursing them back......resulting
in a busted jaw. Sad, but supposedly true.

Man, if he can learn to keep his eyes downfield while he's on the run, watchout!

The difference is that O'Brien and Smith spent a good amount of time with Watson at the combine and in Houston whereas they had never met Osweiler at all. Even Kubiak had gone golfing with Schaub before they traded for him but that doesn't fly with top free agents. McNair needed his "franchise" guy in 2016 after the Hoyer playoff debacle so they all went with the gamble that only cost money because they didn't want to give up all of the picks to go and get Wentz. It didn't work out obviously but they just swung for the fences again and hopefully this time it connects. Rick and BOB will both be fired if it doesn't. As Lance Zierlein said, if Watson fails it won't be because of his attitude and work ethic. It'll just be that he wasn't good enough. QB is an absolute crapshoot nowadays so why not bet on a guy like Watson? I'm rooting like heck for him.

A touch taller than Teddy and about 10-15lbs heavier.
    Teddy is 200 wringing wet.

WTF? When and where? Don't tell me it's because of the QBS we're comparing him to.

I will literally eat Watson's butthole if he leads us to a super bowl title and I have a feeling I'm not the only Texans fan who would. Does that sound racist to you? IDGAF what color he is and neither do most of the other posters in here.

When the Texans drafted Hopkins I wanted Geno Smith. Obviously I was wrong but the writing was on the wall for Schaub. He was shot after the letterman jacket debacle in New England

I really think Schaub suffered an Injury that game he never recovered from and went on to pick six infamy

That's how long the Texans have needed to work on getting a qb

    Sports-reference.com:
D Watson as 6-3, 215. Depends on what site you look at. I believe he has been listed as 6-2.
That same site has Bridgewater as 198 #'s.

    http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/deshaun-watson?id=2558063

    http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/teddy-bridgewater?id=2543465

    http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/geno-smith?id=2539335

(Don't ask me why Geno has a grade in the 90's while Bridgewater is 6.3 & Watson is 6.27.

    NFL.com:
    Bridgewater 6-2, 215#'s

    NFL.com:
    Geno Smith 6-3, 221#'s

    They are my best comparisons.
Geno and Teddy took some snaps from center. Watson rarely did.
Geno and Teddy formed a huddle. Watson rarely did.

I hope Watson can model his game after Russell Wilson and take some traits from all 3.
    Somewhere between Russell-Geno/Bridgewater.

What makes me a little bit worried about this pick is that the Geno Smith comparisons could be spot on meaning that there's a better than fair chance that the rest of the division is laughing at the Texans for this pick a year from now.
