Substance in 60sec answer? The format here is terrible, and if I want a specific answer, I can just read their position on their website. What you get here is how they articulate in addition to what their thinking is. Warren for example pretty much said we need to treat it as a social medical issue, study it and use the result to determine the policy. That's very different than just ban it.

Beto is not going to survive if he goes to every county in the US.

The moderator struck the nail on the head with the question (paraphrasing): "The reality is there will be hundreds of millions of guns in the United States even with more restrictions on the purchase of guns" - That's the big thing here, even if we pass "common sense gun control" this country is awash with hundreds of millions of guns... it won't be terribly difficult for a determined individual to get one and most mass shooters would qualify anyway... at least be honest and bold and say we need to figure out a way to get rid of these guns.

They keep telling Ryan they will get to him. Tough job moderating this.

So what I was able to take away was "we should study it" - great.

This isn't a new topic. You'd think a Presidential candidate could have developed some concrete proposals by now.

That's a fair point, but then it's back to same old ban / no ban and the very left/right solution that has gotten no where. The government has been banned from studying this issue since 1996. That's 23 years of no study from the fed government. So I think the idea that we should study it to make a better informed policy is a good idea.

Hard for me to imagine a solution while there is hundreds of millions of guns in circulation... I thought it was a good straightforward question and Warren pretty much just didn't answer it.

It looks like he has had two tweets so far. If that stands, I win the O/U at 3.5. (I picked the under)

I wish the moderators would let the candidates actually talk.

the ten candidate thing is just too much. it would have been better with some sort of bracket system, one-on-one through each round, leading up to a climactic final four. Lincoln-Douglas at every stage ;)

Terrible display tonight. Why are some of these candidates on stage? Embarrassing. Biden and Bernie are thankful they weren't on stage with this b team.
