Part of the move can be justified for basketball reasons. I think a lot of the fair frustration is the continual unnecessary depletion of assets just to save money by the ownership. Better win now because the future is hamstrung.

yea getting a guy made of glass is pretty funny.

Even Kyrie has better health than Covington.

We really gave up Clint and a 1st round pick for THAT.

I'm going to bed....or atleast try.

There are people that refuse to accept that today’s NBA is played primarily outside in. It just doesn’t make much sense to invest a lot of money in the center position unless you have an Embiid or Jokic-type player. An elite 3&D wing like Robert Covington (Trevor Ariza in his prime) is more valuable than a rim-running center that can’t create his own offense and isn’t elite defensively. It’s especially true when your best five includes a former MVP guard that needs the space to do his damage exclusively in the paint.

Clint Capela’s days here were numbered the moment the Rockets traded for Westbrook.

The thing that sucks is the inclusion of another first-round pick so Fertitta can avoid paying the luxury tax again. Somebody needs to inform him that first-round picks are considered gold in trade discussions and you should not give them away to save money when you are trying to win a championship.

I think that FRP will end up being a mid 25 to late FRP. Considering that we received back what will likely be a mid to early SRP, it really is not that bad. There is also always more flexibility how you sign SRPs. Morey has done well with SRPs.

I swear. Clutchfans has the most bipolar fans. One minute we're all dying to get Covington. The next minute we're hating on the guy.

It takes too much for us to get Covington!

He is just an average 3D player!

I am afraid that come playoff time, the only switching House will be involved in will be his own role.

He is going to be warming up the bench for others.

It’s so funny to see people post this. They aren’t making this trade because they have faith in increasing IH’s role. The dude is not getting more minutes. They’re abandoning the big man position. And he’s not very good.

Pay attn to the WHOLE DEAL and stop just focusing on Capela, Covington, 1st rnd pick, and Bell... We now have cap space and a high 2nd rnd pick to still do a deal or two for more talent by Thur. I’m sure Morey is looking for a C that will fit. Wait until Thur before you say we got took... also wait til buyout market.

If you followed off-season reporting, it's TF that makes the final push to get these deals done.

1st rounders, nene and greens expiring deals with Clint for Covington is a raping of epic proportions. Morey better have something else in the works

That's actually a great small ball lineup, assuming Harden and Westbrook will play defense obviosuly.

Watch vid guys, not bad as we thought.

Bell will sprint down court in transition, finish lobs and will screen%dive with Harden when Brodie sits.

Bell is in the dunker spot when Harden iso's with Tucker and RoCo in corners.

On the other hand we saved about 17M (Nene cost 10). Hope they will be able to use this money at summer
