Meh, some players' games just don't translate across leagues. Sarunas Jascikevius was even more heralded than Vspan, and had a lot more opportunities to adapt, but he never could. And now he's on the same team as Vspan. I repeat, meh.
DD, where u at playa. The European Tmac goes off for 13 and scoops up MVP. If we had him we would be favored against the Laker's and would have no need for Ron Ron
this MVP only confirms how bad of a league the Euroleague is. an MVP in Europe who cant even ride the bench on a first-round cannon-fodder in the NBA? A point guard who cant even beat out Rafer Alston for a job? please~
Jascikevius is just not that good. He got bad handles, got no shooting-range (by nba shooter standard), and he cant do anything else except shooting. If you are a shooter and you cant even crack the rotation on a big jump-shooting team like the Nellie's GS Warriors, theres something wrong with you.
VSpan is a superstar in Europe. In the US he is just a scrub. It also didn't help that JVG ruined the American Dream for him.
Maybe its just that I have a hankering for spanakopta but I think V-Span could've been good in the NBA. He had a style similar to Tony Parker that he wasn't the best passer or jump shooter but could penetrate and hustled. I think if JVG had treated him like Adelman treated Aaron Brooks V-Span could've contributed to the Rockets.
We should give V-Span props here guys - we traded his rights (& peanuts) for Scola. He's kind of the anti-Mooch(Maloney).
