David Lynch anyone?

    Anyone here a fan of David Lynch?

    The guy made the most surreal nightmarish movies I've ever seen like Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway and Inland Empire. I haven't seen him make any thing new since Inland Empire in 2006 what happened to him and why isn't he making any new movies?

    These clips are some of the scariest I've seen, especially the 2nd one down from Inland Empire. I challenge you to watch that scene by yourself in the dark with headphones blasted at full volume. If it doesn't creep you out than you probably need to watch it within the entire film.

    I think they're currently working on the new Twin Peaks series that's set to come out in 2016.

    I think he is talented but exhausting. He intentionally tries to confuse his audience which can be great but sometimes I'm in the mood to just watch a story not figure out a story. So best compliment I can give is he is great when I'm in the right mood. You'll love him if you just experience movies instead of analyzing them.

    I never got into the TV series much, I did see the full length movie though and it was typical Lynch madness. I saw a few early episodes of the old tv series too, it didn't seem to get too crazy or weird.

    I saw that scene for the first time when I was about 21, I never thought a scene in a crowded room full of people at a party could be so frightening. The mystery man was the most jacked up looking person I'd ever seen! Then the fact that he was in two places at once got even creepier!

    Eraserhead was a great start. He peaked with Blue Velvet. Everything else that followed was ok but not as wonderful.

    Mulholland Dr. was spectacular, one of my all time favorites.

    Didn't care for any of his other movies. I'm not sure why, but his excessive weirdness only worked in that one movie for me. I did like Twin Peaks, didn't love it though.

    Have only seen Mulholland Dr., Lost Highway, Twin Peaks and Wild at heart.

    Loved Mullolland Dr, Lost Highway and Twin Peaks. Wild at heart was meh.

    I will check out some more of his stuff though, like Blue Velvet, The elephant man and Eraserhead.

    I've seen 6 movies. '
    Eraserhead - Didn't like it.
    Elephant Man - Meh
    Blue Velvet - Didn't like it. Though the "In Dreams" sequence is forever etched in my mind.
    Lost Highway - Hated it.
    A Straight Story - liked it, was shocked to see it was a David Lynch movie.
    Mullholland Dr. - Loved it.

    More dislike than like. I sometimes think he tries to be too weird and it doesn't work.

    Mulholland Drive pretty much expanded my taste in movies to include more unique/artsty/daring films. So I guess you could say I think pretty highly of it.

    I'm looking forward to the Twin Peaks re-launch. Looking back, I'm surprised that freaky surrealism made it to network tv in those days. Lynch's work has a way of staying in your head, I'll never forget the weird Black Lodge scenes.

    I even loved Wild at Heart, but I realize it is a flawed film. This scene was one of my faves, of many:

    Mulholland Drive has one of the best.... romantic scenes in all of cinema.

    Oh, and Twin Peaks is one of the best TV shows of all time.
