Luckily he & his family are okay, especially their 21 month old son. After draft day, maybe he can buy his own SUV. I guess it's no secret who's going to draft him now. http://cbs.sportsline.com/u/ce/multi/0,1329,5045257_59,00.html Fresno State QB Carr, family, escape injury in hit-and-run Feb. 22, 2002 SportsLine.com wire reports FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno State quarterback David Carr and his wife and baby escaped injury after a driver slammed into his compact car and sped away Thursday night. Carr and his family were headed south on Highway 41 to visit his mother in Tulare when the speeding Chevy sport utility vehicle rear-ended his Saturn sedan. Carr was able to safely pull his car to the median. "Thank God, He's looking out for me and my family," Carr said as he stood near the wreck. Carr, who finished fifth in Heisman Trophy balloting, is expected to be the No. 1 draft pick by the Houston Texans in April. He was wearing a Texans cap at the time of the accident. The impact sent Carr's 21-month-old son, Austin, sailing from a child seat in the car's rear into the front seat where Carr sat with his wife, Melody. "The baby was screaming and Melody was hysterical," said Sheryl Carr, the quarterback's mother. But no one was hurt. Witnesses jotted down the license plate of the speeding vehicle and the California Highway Patrol said Friday it had identified the car owner, but had not determined who was driving.
