He can start a thread about whatever he likes in D&D. No "teasing" intended.

Ha, not worth starting a thread just to learn your opinion. I just hope you're not coming from a place of bigotry.

Actually, it's not really important as long as that car dealership is in good shape. And loan is not just an option, it's a 100% certainty whoever buys it. Even if Jeff Bexoz were to purchase the Rockets, he would not tie up 100% cash in it. That's just not the smartest way to game the system.

With the way the Rockets generate cash (i.e. great finances to date and excellent projections for the future), all you really need is a relatively small amount of liquidity. A loan for such an asset would have banks scrambling to secure the deal because it's such a safe investment - the asset would easily cover the payments and someone like friedkin would likely set up a new company just to purchase the rockets and have that company purchase the rockets via loan agreement. That way if by some miracle it goes bust, the company can declare bankruptcy and you guys get to pay off the unpaid debts. Not that simple, but you get the idea.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_States_Toyota_Distributors

Gulf States Toyota Distributors (GST) is the US' second (out of 2) largest franchised distributor of Toyota vehicles. The 154 dealers in the five states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas account for 13% of Toyota sales in the United States. Per Forbes, GST is a wholly owned subsidiary the holding company, the Friedkin Companies[3] and ranked 53rd on the Forbes 2008 list of America's Largest Private Companies.[4]

Gulf States Toyota brought the first Toyota vehicle to Houston, Texas in 1969, when all Toyota vehicles were manufactured in Japan and imported into the US. Three years later, the company employed 35 associates and had sold 5,000 cars and trucks through 14 dealerships. GST also completed construction of a processing center on a 33-acre (130,000 m2) site at the Port of Houston.

In 2003, GST helped name Houston's premier sports and entertainment venue—the Toyota Center. Toyota broke ground on its 2,000-acre (8.1 km2) truck plant in nearby San Antonio, Texas. The plant, which produces the full-size Tundra pickup, represents a $1.58 billion investment in the community. At year's end, GST exceeded 149,000 total vehicles sold.

In 2005, Gulf States Toyota was named the #1 privately held company in Houston by the Houston Chronicle's Chronicle 100 list. GST was also listed at #40 on Forbes' list of America's Largest Private Companies. By the end of the year, more than 185,000 vehicles were sold through 145 dealerships.

The Los Angeles Times reported in its Saturday editions that Johnson and the Lakers have agreed in principle to a contract for the remainder of the 1995-96 season and that the NBA has approved the deal. League rules prohibit active players from club ownership, so Johnson would have to divest himself of his 5 percent stake in the Lakers.
