“I saw we were up 20 and I was like, ‘OK, if we keep this lead, there’s really no reason to go back in there.’ I’d rather have 50 in 29 minutes with some character than go out there and chase 60,” said Lillard.
I think he was throwing shade at westbrook because westbrook threw shade at him when he made the all star team over paul george. I dont think harden and lillard have any issues + everyone knows that magic game was a close game and we needed that whole 60 to win
Probably right. The "60" thing is the only connection. Lillard and Westbrook had been beefing so that makes sense.
If it was at Harden, he's misinformed. That ORL game was close to the final few mins. Also... it's a lack of character for someone to criticize another player to elevate his own status.
Yeah I don't think he chose to say 60 because of harden's 60 point game. I think he just chose to say 60 because it's the next benchmark he could chase after the 50 he already had.
I don’t think he was referring to or throwing shade at Harden. Harden wasn’t chasing 60, we pretty much needed every single bucket from him that night or we would’ve lost. If Harden dropped 50 that night, we would’ve ended up with an L. I think he’s just saying that he’s not the type to try and pad his stats in garbage time no matter what milestone is available for him to achieve.
He is borderline irrelevant in the NBA. He can get 60 point in one game (if), and no will talk about it. Glorified IT.
Dame’s career high is 59, so he was likely just referencing 60 as a personal best. Doesn’t seem like he was talking about anyone other than himself.
I've never understood "throwing shade." This is something that's only a negative in the Winter? I'll take all the shade I can get if you want to throw it. Cheers.
