If we're thinking about Trump's unChristian behaviors, I'm much more concerned about his hard-heartedness towards the marginalized in society, 'the widow and the orphan' of the Bible. If Christians have something to be upset about, it's his attitude toward illegal immigrants, Islam, police brutality, gays, not to mention his personal conduct of today like his dishonesty, his dubious business practices, and his continued sexism and racism. A consensual affair he had a decade ago strikes me more like a legalistic little footnote compared to the moral outrages he commits today. I know people think evangelicals are up night and day gleefully contemplating the hellfire that awaits adulterers, but by my reading I think he would have much bigger problems to worry about before the Pearly Gates if the Bible were true. For whatever sins he committed with Stormy, he might have repented (unlikely), but he certainly has not repented of his presidency because he's still doing it. Is this really all we expect of evangelical leaders, that they can harangue us for sexual sins? They should be standing for justice and mercy instead. So I don't give a rat's ass Jeffress won't condemn Trump's sexual sins. I'm disappointed he won't condemn Trump on the grounds of justice and mercy.

 

I think we would expect religious leaders to uphold their own beliefs in all matters. What they have displayed though is the perpetuation of the idea that might makes right when it supports your agenda. It's an embarrassment.

 

I suppose the left will never understand why the religious right have supported and continue to support Trump. It is actually quite comical that they think the p*rn star thing would matter. All the while he has supported Israel, appointed a pro-life SCOTUS justice, implemented a ban on transgender in the military, etc..... The other option was Hillary who would have done none of this and is no saint herself not to mention her husband and his track record with women.
