This Wednesday, Melo will come back to the Toyota center and Get _______________ on the Rockets..? Rockets vs Blazers 1/15
If tucker is gimpy, he’ll probably go off. We don’t have anybody at that position who can really face guard him besides Tucker. Can’t throw Hartenstein on him. He’d abuse Mclemore or Gordon with bully ball. Our only other option is House and We don’t know what you’ll get out of him from night to night
I'm happy for Melo but a bit salty that he didn't work out here, given how well he's played this year. While he undoubtedly entered a VERY dysfunctional situation at the beginning of last season, I think that getting ignored by every team and trashed in the media for a year contributed to him checking his ego. The role he's playing in Portland is more or less the same one he was seemingly unwilling to embrace here. "What if" is a useless game to play, but if we had this year's Melo and this year's Chris Paul (with everyone willing to play nice-nice), then I believe we'd be on top of the West.
I'm sure that he will do everything he can to get 30+. I just want the W. I'd be ok he scores 50 as long as we win.
Rockets don't have any gripe with current Melo. Some in the org may even feel a bit bad on his hiatus before Portland. Melo could have a chip on his shoulder. Or even if he is a chill dude, those around him or the media could hype this up where he feels like he is obligated to go off. This is us playing couch psychology. If I were to be honest, getting a Rockets win is the most important regardless if Melo does well. On hyped games I rather not have a Christmas GSW game or we get blown out returning to OKC for Russ.
neverforget His return to OKC last year got him fired. 1 for 11 0 for 6 3s 2 pts Gary Clark took his spot in rotation next day, and the rest is history
He has not played well this year, you're being fed a fake narrative by the media. He is an extremely inconsistent player that is a negative on the court in almost every game. He will occasionally have a good game, and you'll hear about it then, but overall he is not playing well, and he's not playing any better than he did last year. Any team he plays for is going to be hurt by his minutes, and no team aiming for the playoffs would want him. There's a reason none of the phonies like Lebron actually wanted him on their team, these guys like to make noise for the friend and say he's still an NBA player that deserves to be on a roster...just not their roster. The blazers are currently 16-24 and out of the playoff picture with Melo playing 30 minutes per night. Melo is a big part of that.
well, he's starting on Portland. that's a big difference. And he's taking the most midrange shots (10'-3pt) on the team (5.75/gm) *while* shooting the worst percentage (39.5%). and I doubt he's suddenly learned how to play complex, switching defense. He has no role on a contender ... proven by OKC and HOU
