    Yep! Gomez is gone.

Looks like McHugh's reaction to Gomez's ultimate WTF play of the year was enough to send him packing. Good riddance.

I can never feel bad for someone making $9,000,000 to play crappy baseball.

    He didn't "just lose it".

    He is an idiot.

He lacks any focus or forethought.

    He doesn't have any discipline.

He doesn't work hard in practice.

    He isn't the best teammate.

Is he a bad guy? No, and I don't think that he has anything against the Astros. I am sure he is disappointed.... but you reap what you sow.

before entering last season, those were not words to describe him. "exciting, one of the best in the league" is what those people that know nothing about baseball but have jobs in baseball said about him:rolleyes:

he lost it. and rightfully so should no longer get the time.

Carlos Gomez is the hispanic Ty Lawson. Used to be good but then forgot how to play once he got to HOuston.

He was exciting (and still can be), he has tremendous natural skills...... but he is and has been an idiot... he and Derek Bell can compare notes on being "different".

Even when Gomez put up good numbers, he was fundamentally flawed and lacked discipline. His production has been declining for the last two seasons.

I have no ill will towards him, but I'm legitimately shocked at how many fans on twitter want their teams to pick him up.

Rangers probably pick him up and he turns into Gary Sheffield. Seemed like a cool guy and good teammate. His game just went to hell overnight

Was just thinking that. How unlucky can our front office get. Obviously not the end of the world because we still have a little bit of value in Fiers but Gomez traded to Mets gets rescinded and then he ends up with us. Had some moments last year but worst player in baseball this year. On the other hand, Rangers get Lucroy after he rejects a trade to Indians. Not to mention that Hamels, for some ungodly reason, chose Arlington over Houston even though they had a small chance of making the playoffs at that point in time. We probably don't make a run for Gomez if we were able to pry Hamels away at last year's deadline. Just a series of unfortunate events.

    What a failure.

    Glad that clown is gone.

May he take his "I feel sexy", knee-swinging, helmet-flying-off, misplaying-outfield-balls ass elsewhere.

Jandel Gustave I believe? Probably temporary. I assume Teo will be up soon but maybe not until September.

Where are you getting your information from? He seemed like a good teammate and I can't speak to his work ethic or practice habits but I never saw a report saying he was lacking in either department. He was clearly undisciplined but he also had a lot of success both on the field and at the plate prior to being an Astro. The wheels fell off. Simply didn't work out. Astros are definitely better without him and maybe he is as well.
