Not sure what you're talking about because Harden needs to refs to get to the FT line. Also Curry makes his teammmates better (ie Draymond, KT, etc) Harden's teammates get worse playing next to him, similar to Kobe back in the day (ie Ty Lawson this year) Not really debatable who is better if you are being objective.
Curry is definitely helped by the refs , being on a good team , and the NBA not calling those damn moving screens . Also he's come along in the right era but also helped to define this era . He's a very very good player with an historically elite skill in shooting . His shooting is so good it augments his other skills like driving and passing. He has gravity and because his team is also excellent you can't easily double him . That being said there are ways to stop him , if you are willing to risk playing physical . Curry is exceptionally quick and using strength to combat his speed is the only recourse guys have , they can't exactly play off of him because he will just shoot . Right now the only guys that can stop curry are the long and the quick . Kawhi is one of these guys, Westbrook can stay with him , other top athletic pgs can give him a good run , and light wings that have good quickness can also limit him . However, he plays within a well designed offense and defenses really have to be on their games otherwise with his shooting he can take tiny openings and destroy you . Curry is definitely a top 10 player, but in a vacuum where you just assign scores to skills and athleticism and defense I'm not sure he measures up to the other guys in the top 10 in terms of versatility. He is great at shooting and because of that his other attributes play up , but if there is ever a streak where he is cold then he won't make nearly as big of an impact . Basically because of his shooting and how his team plays defenses really have a hard time stopping him and the Warriors . If his shooting ever slacks and teams adjust then it's hard to argue that he will be great . Also if his team composition changes and he is one of the only playmakers on the floor ( the rest of the team is limited ) then it's difficult to say how he would deal with things like hard doubling and trapping and defenses planning specifically to take him out of the game.
Durant is the best player in the league. The lack of coverage he has gotten via the media this year is unbelievable
Or maybe just maybe he was younger and didn't reach his prime when Jackson was coach and he has vastly improved since then.
Top 5 players in the NBA currently in no order Curry Durant Lebron Kawhi Westbrook Then you have guys like CP3, AD, Harden, Butler, Green, Griffin etc
In the off chance their offense doesn't work and they don't get a good shot, he can always ISO with the best of them, I have no idea where you got this impression... Just because he doesn't do it as often as Harden and the other guys, due to GSW being an actual team and having an actual offense, doesn't mean he doesn't have that ability. Can anyone bring up iso success% for Harden and Curry?
If his shooting fails, he is still an amazing finisher with a wide array of layups, and is probably one of the most creative ball handlers of all time with great passing instincts. He's just a transcendent player, no matter what way you try to twist it.
http://stats.nba.com/playtype/#!/isolation/?OD=offensive&dir=1&PT=player Curry beats Harden by an extremely wide margin in ISO fg%, efg%, ISO tov%, ISO PPP and ISO percentile. But keep on talkin ish without checking the numbers.
It's amazing... do you guys actually think that the last 25 years there has been ONE superstar who did not succeed due to the system around him and the supporting cast? Michael Jordan had 6 years to build his game and let the franchise create a team around him. Or let's look at Lebron, someone who has been shown as how he's bigger than the system. 1. Miami made some big adjustments, especially in letting Bosh and Wade subordinate themselves under Lebron. 2. He goes the the Cavaliers where a team is formed around him and he reaches the finals (which he probably wouldn't have done with the same team in the West!). The team and system aren't as good as the Warrior team and system so he looses the finals. Lebron is not winning rings without a team and a solid system. That's not a slam against him, that's the nature of the game. You can not win rings by just throwing stars together and let them sort it out. Nor can you win a ring by creating a fantastic system, drill that in your players but have no stars among them (though you can get by with stars, not superstars). So of course Curry wins due to the system and his teammates... that's sayng water is wet. But currently Curry is clearly at another level (due to the system and his teammates...), so it's absolutely crazy to deny he isn't the #1 player in the league (by a huge gap).

Warriors as a team and Curry of course benefits from the whistle but which star hasn't? You think MJ, Lebron, Kobe, Wade didn't get preferential treatment? Come on man. I hate the Warriors, mainly because the referees clearly benefit them with not calling moving screens and letting blatant stuff go, but that does not take away from Curry's greatness.
True, because its not like WB is ball dominant or takes ill advised shots or anything. Why the hell wouldn't you take arguably the best shooter in the history of the game at a position which has pretty much become a hybrid anyway? At least with Curry he'll hit his shots.
The best at playing off ball. But lets be honest he gets open so much because of illegal screens. Those men are not set 90% of the time. He is still great at what he does. Curry cant beat a man without that so no i wouldn't call him the best. Its a shame that he doesnt try more because he has amazing dribble skills but somehow i think he dont go hard to the paint because of u know puny ankles. Therefore i reject your opinion and petition you update the title to " Curry's the best right now at off the ball"
