If you're going to change, go retro, or don't change at all. This franchise has history, and it needs to be embraced at a time like this so fans won't feel more alienated than they already are.
If the two in front were our home/away with the gray as alternate, I'd be ecstatic. People besides just Astros fans would wear them, and our retro look might inspire nostalgic support from other NL fanbases who feel we got the screw job. Going retro is the best thing I can think of at a time like this, and it would definitely take some of the sting out of this garbage as a fan.
There's nothing I can't stand more in the history of uniforms than the vest-look that took over for a brief period in baseball. Off the top of my head, the Reds and the Marlins had it I believe. Just awful.
I love their current scheme, keep it. Unless you're going old school. Otherwise, no more freaking changes. Too many for Houston's teams. No identity. Worried after how awful the ROckets commi unis are.
Love this one. It kind of keeps with the tradition of the Astros having funky uniforms, as it's a bit different from the rest of the league. I like the star with the H logo in general. Maybe as our secondary logo, we could use the Astrodome logo, without the Astrodome. Just make it say Astros instead.
I just want plain and simple: Maybe add a bit of color to the road one, but otherwise leave it be. And then once you change it this time, just leave it like it is for the next 20 years!!! ЯR
If they are the Astros then make it about Astronauts, if they are about trains then make it about trains (stupid hipster preservationist architects ) because they don't go together, Astronauts in a Train Station. We're here to take a train load of oranges, into space!
I'm fine with the current logo, and colors, I just don't like the pinstripes or logo script. They're trying to be traditional when the team is not.
This is the direction I want, though I think the 3 tailed shooting star is a bit much. I just want classic and simple. The opposite of those Tron Legacy unis the Marlins are trotting out.
I just saw these today, and came to post the same sentiment in this thread. Good lord, those things are fugly!
I don't have a problem with the Astros script or the pinstripes but wouldn't be terribly upset if they changed those elements. I think the star logo is great. Simple but classic and easily identifiable. I love the evolution of the star in our logos and I think this version of it is the best one yet.
Kudos for posting this image. Damn, the franchise has had some great pitching over the years. It was a strength for so long. What happened?
I just saw that the Blue Jays went back to their old school look, with a slight tweak. This is what I would like to see the Astros do.
That's probably what they would do. I think a new identity for the team going into the AL is probably for the best. Liked the Jay's new look, hopefully if they do decide on a new one it looks as good as theirs is.
