i don't know what to think. it's a clean look. certainly don't elicit a "that's f-ing amazing!" response. pleased to have the old caps back (if that's what they are).
The fact they have orange, alone, makes them less generic than a whole host of teams around the league. Most generic I can think of is Boston's away unis.
i like them.. ASTROS or HOUSTON across the front in Block letters, Old School H looks the same though from the 80's.. was kinda hoping for a 2012-2013 twist to that but it's better than the current ones.. Problem with new uni's is EVERYONE wants to be blown away and everything has to be amazing or they suck.. to me, simple, clean looking uni's are the best.. what exactly IS effin amazing anyways? i don't see any MLB uniforms and Go "wow OMG those are AMAZING" and get chills.. Tigers, Yankees, Cubs all have generic looking uni's.. the original baseball uniforms were all generic looking with piping and block letters or old english lettering.. anyways, not quite sure what everyone was expecting, Hey now pretty much told us like 3 months ago they were blue, orange with old school H on the hat..
mad max- I love Boston, NY, Detroit, Chicago Uniforms.. Generic is what started it all.. would everyone rather have some gay Marlin like Miami and it be all over the top.. not me.. I wanted Astros or Houston in plain Block lettering..
agreed entirely. i've been hoping for clean, crisp orange/blue uniforms for the Astros for a very, very long time. I THINK that's what we're going to be getting. I'm really excited about that.
You'll get your wish. As posted previously, the block lettering is from the 1965 road uni. Home says Astros, roads say Houston, and yes, as clearly shown, caps have an orange bill.
Do we have a hat that is a single color without the orange bill? Seems the "H" is a little different than the old H on Star logo.
Let' clear some things up: - they are indeed bringing back the H/star logo - but it has definitely been updated. - the primary hat is navy; there are two alternatives. My memory of hat hierarchy is a little fried - but I'm pretty sure navy is primary. Navy/orange (which does exist) is not primary, IIRC. - there are four jerserys: home, road, alt and batting practice, which is game-eligible.
sweet. i love all this news. was wondering why you kept saying how much everybody will love the batting practice jerseys. seemed like a bit of a letdown that they may be the best part of the package, but the fact that they are game-eligible changes my mind on that. pretty pleased overall. can't wait to see it all.
I think this jersey with the orange short sleeve underneath like the pic shows is going to be fantastic. Like max mentioned the orange alone makes it less generic than a lot of others. It looks like it'll be a nice classic look. Just like the Rockets should have done.
I'm actually really liking what I see. Clean and simple can be absolutely perfect... wish the Rockets would understand that.
