Morey's recent Twitter followings of D12 & CP3 got me thinking about how he could get them both to come to H-Town. What do you think about this... CP3 & D12 both come to H-Town because more than anything else they want a ring. Maybe these two even talk to each other over the Summer. JSmoove would come because he's buddies with D12. We would have to trade Lin and Asik for picks. And send the roster packing. Imagine the Cap Limit is $61 million next year. PG Paul 19m SG Harden 15m SF Parsons 888k PF J.Smith 15m C Howard 20m Beverley 800k G.Smith 777k ? ? ? Total $71.5 million Over $10.5 million Luxury Tax $10.5 x 3 = $31.5 million So we would be over the cap by about $10.5m which would result in a tax of approximately $31.5 million. If we can't afford to pay the luxury tax then we ask CP3, D12 and JSmoove to take a less than max deal or we just don't recruit JSmoove. I think its a line-up that can challenge Miami but don't know how well they can play together, especially CP3 and Harden. Is it better to just keep our backcourt intact and sign Dwight and trade Asik for JSmoove? Basically the line-up I proposed but with Lin instead of CP3. Let me know what you guys think.
What do I think? I think you should take this fantasy crap to the Random Trade thread, and familiarize yourself with the salary cap. Edit-Don't even bother posting it in the Random Trade thread, it's a waste of bandwidth.
why not hold back on signing josh smith and trade parsons and fillers for Lebron? Paul Harden Delfino Lebron Howard bench Oj mayo( signed with some monopoly money.) Beverley tony allen (vets minimum and Apex shoe deal) can you say championship?
max money, of course not, but on a Horford-type deal ...he'd be worth it. The great thing is that we have the luxury of not being desperate. Milsap and Jefferson are other options, plus one has to assume that one of Jones, D-Mo, Robinson, or Smith will be ready to take the next step. We can sit back and name our price without feeling like we have to make a move. I suspect that Houston will be in-demand as a free agent destination this offseason. Who's to say that a guy like Al Jeff, who's made a lot money already, doesn't come to Houston on a value contract because he likes McHale and thinks Houston gives him a chance to play out his career with a winner? It's gonna be a very fun offseason. There's a ton of possibilities, and most are far more probable than smoking the Dwight pipe dream.
If you have Cp3/Harden/Dwight I'd much rather have a guy like Milsap for 4-5 million cheaper than Smith. Knows his role and is a great team guy. Need that extra money for vets like Garcia/Delfino.
I'll do it. Child, either you must be touched in the head to be dreaming that hard or you just incredibly ignorant.
Yep that'd work. I feel kinda silly with all the comments but Morey said we have space for two more max contracts and Dwight and CP3 are Free Agents and really don't like their teams. Is it far fetched these friends would want to joinin Houston? Especially with Morey targeting both? We have the space as I've shown.
