Finally Switzerland calls a state of emergency. Geneva is to be under partial lockdown and all gatherings public or private banned except funerals. The UK now "discourage" mass gatherings but they take no measures. Too early they say. Too early to achieve their planned mass murder maybe.

No doubt, thats why I singled this line of thinking out. I know plenty of far right people that are the greatest people but are so hell bent on not changing how they think due to a political stance.
It's going to spread. Social distancing is not so much to prevent the spread of it but to flatten the curve. If it spreads too quickly it will overwhelm our health care system like it has in Italy, where I'm pretty sure social distancing is at more than 97% now, too late.
Germany closes down everything but essential from tomorrow. Bars ,restaurants, cinemas, brothels and churches. SMH leaves hair salons open. Guess Germans can't live in quarantine without getting their hair done.
Long overdue, hope its not to late and that in future the EU would learn the lesson. Will be a crazy time after we get over the virus, will see who will pay the price for all the faults in the eu. In the meanwhile the king of Belgium(yes Belgium still has a king, its weird and we know it) gave a speech urging pepole to follow instructions and stay safe.
Wow France is about to quarantine Paris and enforce ban of movement. The locals will have 48 hours to decide the house/place they will be quarantined for the next 45 days. He will bring the army to the streets.
You have now a government. Congratulations! Only took a year. Pandemic brings people together even if they are far right flamish and far left walloons. Stay safe. No matter what the state advices and does people are stupid unless they bring the police in.
Did you click the link/article? Obviously just modelling but it has nice graphs in there. The modeling it showed had massive spread continuing through 97% effective social distancing, but MUCH MUCH slower spread at 98%. Again, obviously just their numbers and modelling, but as you note... it kind of reflects reality in Italy where they do now have fairly effective social distancing, and are still being overwhelmed. Their modelling point there then - at some point, which is VERY VERY close to 100% social distancing for a while, the spread will slow down, but again it's nearly 100% effective quarantine for a while.
