LAPD is working up building a case against Harvey as we speak. The problem is that most of the accusations are too old and statute of limitations has passed, so they only have a few cases in which they can actually try him - they are currently trying to build a solid case before they arrest him.

Roman Polanski was actually convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor (he plea bargained down and pled guilty). However, he fled the country before he could be sentenced. The U.S. has been trying to extradite him ever since and even had him arrested 8 years ago in Switzerland, but the Swiss refused to hand him over. He has avoided travel to any country that has extradition treaties with the U.S.. but the U.S. is still active in trying to arrest him.

 

It's rare I say this...but Bobbythegreat has a super-valid point, this one. Polanksi is the poster child of like "WTF, every other celebrity or some-celeb is handled with swift, stern arm, yet celebs actually are SUPPORTING him.

 

With a large enough sample, it was bound to happen eventually.

Bill Cosby had a great show, but his standup sucked, and his actions with these women are deplorable and he deserves several ass whooping, both literally and figuratively.

The fact is that 5 years has done a lot when it comes to society and outrage. Twitter has only exploded within the last 3 years.

I agree with everything you said except his stand up. He is widely considered one of, if not the greatest stand up comedian of all time. His albums were a driving force and influence for just about every comedian today. He literally changed what it meant to do a stand up routine. He might not be your cup of tea, but his stand up is phenomenal.
