    I would have said GTR any other year.
    But that new Corvette is SEXY. Like Parsons.

    Well, I'm very relieved our Texas roads are safe at 200mph. :eek: DaFuq?!?!

    I have probably three of all the cameras used inside that vehicle.

    Driving 200 mph on the highway is like a death sentence and If that guy hit those birds...glad to know that the Grandpkwy is now a race track...:)

    I highly disagree. I've driven at speeds over 200 mph in Texas and other great highways around the world. Our highways are decent, but no match against some of the others. I don't know about the stretch on GP that he drove on, but I'll write his statement off just being loyal to the state.

    He said that right after going 200mph on the Grand Parkway stretch.
    But yeah I agree with you, parts of I-10, 71, and 290 are horrid and in dire need of repair.

    Ya, I'm leaning towards the new Vette also. The GTR might have higher limits due to its awd system and dual clutch tranny but I feel like the Vette would be more fun to drive. Arn't they making dct option for the Vette also?

    why did he stop at 200 mph? Why couldn't they just go beyond 200 mph and see how much it can go...

    More than likely running out of room of open highway, or the freeway isn't safe for speeds past 200 mph. This ain't a professional race track.

    I think this was done in conjunction with DPS/Toll Road Authority for the EZ Tag system, or that is how they "sold" the idea. They ended it at the EZ Tag pass through. With that said, he probably was ending up with a nice straight stretch at 200MPH.

    200MPH is 293 feet per second, at 206 he was going more than a football field every second. Not much room for error, and not much room period. That stretch of highway would have ended fast. Even the guys on Top Gear make sure they are in optimal conditions to go 200MPH+ (never on their test track).
