Hey Guys, I currently live in the SF bay area, so it's rare for me to get to see the Rockets live. I missed them coming to the area in January when they played GS but thankfully a friend of mine has season tickets to the clippers, and pretty good ones at that! So last weekend I packed up and headed down to LA to catch the Rockets in action. Some (mostly not helpful) thoughts: Barnes is a thug. But he hurt us with those threes in the first quarter. Nate Robinson really is short! Our shooting % was awful that game. We lost to the Clippers in every category except for FTs and TO. Thank goodness for Harden. And for DeAndre. Chris Paul put up decent numbers, but during the game he seemed silent to me. The Rockets waste the clock too much. There were several times where Harden would just hold the ball for at least 5 seconds, just letting the clock run. I'm sure he's trying to psych out his defender, which he does really well, but we let the clock expire at least once. Otherwise, Harden was amazing, especially from the line, only missing 1 FT. TJones!! Josh Smith....... Just a few pics below, with some stories. A pic of me with Harden shooting free throws in the background. This was after Barnes threw him down. I figured the if I was to get a pic of anything, it should be Harden shooting FTs. Spoiler Random image of game action Spoiler A pic of the most well known Clippers fan, Clipper Darrell. Have you guys heard of this guy? He sat literally two seats behind me! Funny guy. At one point he started a "Defense" chant that was then continued over the loud speaker on the same beat. He heckles the players, calling them ugly (specifically Harden and Bev). But my favorite of his was calling out to Dorsey while he was shooting free throws "Hey, number 8. Who are you?!" and after Dorsey missed a free throw he continued "Is that Dwight Howard?!" Haha, funny guy. I'm not really doing him justice. But here's a pic: Spoiler During the game, a rockets fan got escorted out near us. I snapped a pic but didn't think it worth uploading. On his way out, he was calling out to rockets fans nearby and many stood and cheered...
Love reading these! Been great these last few weeks with fans in different cities reporting. Thanx OP!
it was in another thread, basically he was riling the clipper fans up and by the end he was just giving them the finger
Nope, not asian. I'm from Houston originally, not the bay area. (I'm assuming the comment is because Lin was from Palo Alto?) According to my friend with the tickets, there were some disagreements between the Clippers organization and Darrell under the previous ownership. Darrell pushed to get Dunleavey fired when he was coach and the org wasn't happy so they stopped giving him so much visibility. Cube's even offered him a job as Maverick Darrell: http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/index?id=7638157
We can break you out of the bay if you are being held against your will. Use the code words, Shaving my beard this mourning.
Haha, I may need that at some point. Right now I'm here of my own accord, but some day I'll actually want a house...
