I have noticed recently over the last several months that it feels like since the 2018 election the conservative media (e.g. Drudge and Fox) have been less favorable to the Trump White House. It's not like they're treating it like the Obama White House, but it's not pre-2006 Bush White House either.

For example: Drudge has had headlines saying Mueller report will be bad for Trump post-Barr memo saying it fully exonerates him, and today it's about how Mar-a-Lago is a bad place for the president to vacation.

This does not mean they are less conservative in terms of their editorial content. They still very much have a conservative spin to to the news. But it just feels like they are a lot less Pro-Trump with their spin.

Is this because of the Disney deal https://www.latimes.com/business/hollywood/la-fi-ct-disney-fox-sale-20171214-story.html or are mainstream conservatives getting bored and tired of Trump's continuous antics?

Or have they always been lukewarm at best to Trump and I have not really been paying enough attention?

Trump hasn't delivered his key campaign promise. So there is that. I do feel that ultimately the media needs Trump more than they want to admit though and that goes for the leftist ones too. They thrive with him because of the Trump Bump for ratings.

Bump — Trump is going after Fox and Friends now because they said he is losing to Biden.

Without Fox’s support, Trump will be impeached and Pence will be President.

Not sure, but Fox news wasn't part of the Disney deal.

The fox crowd allies with trump over fox now. He could condone anything and they would be on board

There does seem to me to be some sparring between Trump and his media allies. Conservative media try to steer Trump with how they spin coverage, while Trump pushes back on them with his twitter rebukes.

Yep, this. There's "hyuge" dissatisfaction about lack of progress on a border wall.

Guessing the conservative media is beginning to hedge their bets a bit. More than likely, they aren’t seeing the “Trump bump” anymore and/or their sponsors are pushing back on some of the things Trump is saying.

Trump was a nice distraction, but he’s played out at this point. Plus, the right-wing media sees a better following when they can rail relentlessly against a villain like they could Obama.

Perhaps this is due to Trump having delivered on probably the last great upper class tax cut for years, so he is of limited further use to the oligarchs who actually own or fund the conservative media. I suppose their could be some blowback from the fans who expected him to make abortions felony murder or the coal minds and steel mills to be resurrected.
