Tomorrow will be his first day as a full-time employee for the Houston Rockets. He will be their staff writer and will also be in charge of all content that goes up on rockets.com. I'm super-excited for him because he's extremely talented and brings a different approach to his work. The Daryl Morey article he wrote ranks as a top 3 piece in my mind as far as true journalism goes. I could have made this in the Hangout, but Fritz has made such an impact on the GARM that I thought it would only be proper to continue his legacy where it all started.
Jason is a terrific talent and a great guy. I only hope that the Rockets won't force him to tow their line.He is very creative and always looks for advice, which is a rarity. Congratulations to you Mr.Friedman, well deserved. I do feel that he might not be allowed to post on the Clutch BBS anymore, but we will surely be following him keenly.
The marketing guy (Tim McDougall sp?) used to post here without any problems. So I think Jason can post too. I do think that he will not be as free as he wants writing for the Rockets. I just hope that Rockets.com and Clutchfans will have a much better relationship, without the "jealousy" thing in the past.
Bad, sad news. There goes an independent look and voice for us. Good for hi, I guess - but I doubt it.
damn I will miss his articles then that would let him speak his mind freely. But congratulations all the same
That's awful. His stories were great in the Houston press. We have lost Fritz to the corporation. He will be a company yes man, unable to mention the slightest bit of criticism or negativity.
That's not necessarily true. Just because he's working for the Rockets doesn't mean he can't post equally intelligent and amazing commentary on here under a different name. We just won't KNOW it's Fritz.
Craig Ackerman was the one who was doing it before wasn't he... isn't he the one who was filling in on the radio broadcast? Edit: maybe I am wrong... what does Damien Pierce do?
