They are. Chuck's going there to develop Cousins for his eventual trade to the Rockets 3 years later.... I hope. :)

He did say that Hayes was better than Scola right before that.

    I absolutely stand by that.

Defense is 50% of basketball, and Chuck is the best defender at the PF in basketball.

I'll take Chuck Hayes against Amare/Blake/Lamarcus/Dirk/Kevin/Tim and you take Scola.

    Let's see what happens...

(Scola was subbed out last year for Patterson and we often got better)

What happened when Chuck was subbed out?

Kyle Lowry is better than Aaron Brooks too...

The only way I see it is that Morey has gotten a commitment out of Chandler or Nene.

No way Morey lets Chuck walk for Samuel freakin Dalembert.

    Who's arguing that?

Lowry is miles ahead of Brooks.

Scola and Hayes, you really can't compare the two.

    Chuck Hayes
    28 years old
    16.2 PER
    5 Million Per Year?

    Luis Scola
    31 years old
    18.4 PER
    8 Million Per Year?

You be the judge... I know when I went to games live, it was Chuck that was making the biggest impact on the game. I love Scola, but Chuck did the heavy lifting, there is no question. Ask Blake Griffin and Dirk Nowtizki... Pray keep that signature REEKO, I dig it.

You're a rookie, so I'll give you a pass. EVERYONE used to argue that, in the exact same fashion. There was a small group that said it wasn't so...

Yes, you certainly can. Statistically, contractually, and otherwise.

What you can't compare is how bad Luis Scola's defense is compared to Chuck Hayes. It is night and day. I'll take Chucks steadily improving offense, his ability to handle the ball and his ability to pass, his youth, his leadership and his impact that has never showed on the boxscore.

He is the Kyle Lowry of PFs...

Lowry and Chuck never used to impact the boxscore. Now that they finally do, I am scared to lose those intangibles, as well as the tangible stats they have improved upon.

Tyson Chandler is a better center than Chuck Hayes. He is also a better center than Dirk Nowitzki. As far as starting PF's go, that is a different matter.

(I wouldn't pay Tyson Chandler more than 6-7 million)

Not a fan of his one good contract season, ala Trevor Ariza...

If Morey is willing to pay 3 times more for Nene or Chandler than Hayes he has lost his metrics. Guys that can start 82 games at center and be effective dont come for 5 mil. Especially defensive stoppers. Most backup centers make more than that. Hell we paid Brad Miller more than that.

Chuck is a guy that can guard the 4 or 5, rebound effectively, and is very efficient, has intangibles, and is the hardest worker on the team and possibly in the league. If he was 7 ft and had the exact same impact on the game, he would be making double that. Chuck is pound for pound the best post defender in the game and flat out probably a top 15 post defender in the league.

Chuck plays like a 7 footer, what he lacks in blocked shots, he makes up for in drawing charges. The difference between Nene and Chuck is about 5 pts and 0.5 blocks, with Chuck having about 1.5 more rebounds. Chuck is improving while Nene has been stagnant since his rookie year. Chuck is younger.

Woj says it's 4 years, $21M & that the Wolves are prepared to make an offer of their own.

I still think other free agents are likely more excited to play along Nene than a Chuck Hayes. Nuggets have been to the WC before and frequently go to the playoffs. That accounts for massive exposure.
Nonetheless I think Nene is not much better than Chuck.
