    Melo says a lot of dumb stuff to the press but fact of the matter is he is a great basketball player. Kobe and Jordan have probably the largest egos in the world and treats people like crap but nobody gets on their case coz they're media darlings. With Melo, they're always portraying him out to be a villain. Can you imagine if Lin played with Kobe? Do you think Kobe will all of a sudden give in, take a backseat and change his game around Lin? I don't think so.

    Kobe is Kobe, he earned his due. Even D12, ranked higher than him, defers to him. Melo? Hmmm,.... He has not 100% earned it. What with a dismal record before linsanity.

    Lin's situation was a perfect storm in NY. If he played with Kobe coming into the league, he'd be trying to gain minutes over Steve Blake and PJ's favorite Derek Fisher. So Kobe wouldn't have to worry about Lin playing serious minutes and if Lin did breakthrough, he'd be a different type of player in the triangle.

    Its important because the only game the Rockets will be shown on national TV this season is against the NY Knicks on Dec 18th.

    It's actually December 17th and on NBATV, which they have games schedueled to be shown on NBATV.

    The Rockets have 2 games currently planned to be shown on ESPN vs Chicago and GSW.

    And I guarantee you there will be a game thread about it.

    And Carmelo vs Lin would be some topic, but this really ranks up, as a Rocket fan, as a Who Cares topic. Again, its all about what happened during the Knicks season.

    It's like if the Atlanta Hawks board had someone talk about McGrady dissing Rick Adelman and the Rockets. Hawks fans wouldn't care.
